Clinical application of two types of Hook-Wire needle localization procedures for pulmonary small nodule biopsy
CONCLUSIONS: The disposable pulmonary nodule puncture needle is safer and more effective in pulmonary small nodule localization biopsy, exhibiting increased comfort compared to the breast localization needle. Additionally, the incidence of complications is significantly lower.PMID:38669497 | DOI:10.3233/THC-248027 (Source: Technology and Health Care)

The prevalence of pneumothorax in human immunodeficiency virus patients. < em > A single center study < /em >
CONCLUSION: Pneumothorax in patients with HIV is a manifestation of the progression of the disease and its poor outcome. It has a complicated treatment course and a high mortality rate.PMID:38657977 | DOI:10.15537/smj.2024.45.4.20230807 (Source: Saudi Medical Journal)

Thoracoscopic blood patch instillation for persistent air leak in pneumothorax: a case series and systematic review
We report two cases of secondary spontaneous pneumothorax in which patients had persistent air leaks for more than seven days and were subjected to thoracoscopy to locate the site of the leak. In the same sitting, 50 mL of autologous blood patch was instilled directly at the leak site. Post-procedure, the air leak subsided in both patients, and the chest tube was removed with complete lung expansion. We also conducted a systematic review of the use of medical thoracoscopic interventions for treating persistent air leaks.PMID:38656320 | DOI:10.4081/monaldi.2024.2994 (Source: Monaldi Archives for Chest Disease)
