Some program reviews for future applicants
Hopefully, this post will be well received by future plastic surgery applicants. It is purely intended to be one individual's opinion of various programs and in no way a condemnation of any program. IMHO, every program graduates competent residents it just depends on what you want from a training program. During the application process I enjoyed reading varying accounts of PRS programs and thought I would give back. Here are some brief pros and cons of several places: 1. NYU Pros:... Plastic Surgery Sub-I Tutor
The absolute key to doing well on Plastic Surgery rotations is meeting someone who will tell you the answers to the secret questions that you are guaranteed to be asked. In plastic surgery, for every operation or problem, there are classic questions that have been passed down through the generations of attendings, residents and medical students. They are so repeated that all medical students will learn them by the end of their 2nd or 3rd sub-I. However, you want to be the rare all-star... Future Surgical Specialities
Hi All, I've been doing quite a bit of reading into the history of surgery, and it raised the question "are there any more surgical specialities to create?" . In the near future or ever at all do you think there are more surgical specialities to create as Harold Gillies did with modern plastic surgery, Harvey Cushing for modern neurosurgery and Jones with orthopaedics. My thinking is that we have all body parts and ages covered so there isn't really any space for new surgical specialities,... Future Surgical Specialities (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Another billing article
Blindsided I really don’t understand how these companies get away with this stuff. Charging $1300 for a patient with a lac you call a plastic surgeon to fix or a corneal abrasion is just insane. Makes us all look bad. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Options?
Hello, I am 22 years of age and I want to become a plastic surgeon. However, I have taken a non tradition route to get in medical school and majoring in human relations. I have a 4.0 grade point average but I need to get medical hours and 4 classes. I have applied to the hospitals but getting a job there is extremely hard. Moreover, I have taken all the classes except physics and inorganic chemistry and have done really well. The problem is the school I attend it a satelight school and... Options? Best rhinoplasty surgeon in NYC
Does any one have an opinion about who is the best rhinoplasty surgeon in NYC. I am researching this procedure for my 20 year old daughter. She has a hump and a "droopy" tip. I have been told she will require a septal tip graft, hump reduction and osteotomies. This would be a primary rhinoplasty for her. Since there might be some ENT residents and Facial Plastic Surgery Fellows on this forum, I thought I would ask. I am looking for a doctors doctor. NYC would be most convenient, but I would...
