Certiphi Tips! (Mine just came back after 2 business days)
Just a general tip that I feel like some people I’ve seen on here can save a lot of time and headache with - when filling out the Certiphi form, I half-assed all of my old addresses as I couldn’t be bothered to remember or find out the exact street names and numbers. For one of them, I just put the city and zipcode and N/A’d the rest. I submitted and 24 hours later my background check came back squeaky clean, which I released to med schools.

M3 interested in EM: Do you plan on practicing into your late 50s or 60s?
I recently learned that a popular EM Twitter doc runs a headache clinic on the side. In conjunction with the constant threads and talks about the very real and understandable burnout in EM, I've begun thinking long-term about the implications of pursuing the specialty if I choose to do so. One area that is hard for me to get good insight and data on is on what being an EP would look like once past 50 or even 60 years of age. I am hoping for some insight from this community on this topic...

Postbacc feels unnecessary?
Advisors are giving me a headache but I have to keep meeting w them as per our prehealth committee letter app requirements. Graduated with a little over a 3.7/3.5 c/s (graduated a yr early but last 40-45ish creds are straight A's including upper level sciences) and they said because I'm on the verge of having a shot with MD, to do a postbacc or consider SMP.

Do any of you have a good method of prescribing home SPG for a migraine abortive? I’ve prescribed lidocaine drops successfully but I’m not sure what I can prescribe for equipment to administer it (dropper, syringes, etc).

Anyone else out there that loves haldol as much as myself?
During residency, my attendings never allowed me to use it outside of the few that kept relatively up-to-date with the literature, and then they only let me use it for gastroparesis or refractory migraines. Since becoming an attending, I probably use this stuff 2-3x per shift. It is absolutely amazing how much of a life saver this medication has been. If I hate working nights, what sort of subspecialties/practice arrangements in neurology should I look into?
Interested in hearing about people's day-to-day practice and satisfaction/gripes! Right now I like most everything I've seen in neuro, and I totally understand that residency is residency - you'll be on call a lot and super busy. However, for long-term career, I think waking up at 3am every few weeks to go see patients at the hospital would burn me out. Dentists giving vaccinations?
What are the rules about a dentist or his hygienists giving a patient a vaccination while he’s there.
For example: your patient comes in sees the hygienist then typically waits 5-10 mins before the dentist comes by if at all. During that time what if they got their flu vaccine administered by either the hygienist or the dentist when he comes by. Get it all done in one visit. Save patient time and headache of going to doctor or pharmacy for their shots.
