Envision
Buyer be warned I know ! anyone work for them in icu in Dallas ? Napa icu in Atlanta? I know they’re skimming, but they’re offering reasonable salaries and reasonable hours in these hard to break into cities. Yes, anesthesia is easier to do, but it’s less of a headache dealing with my APPs in icu than crna in OR for me. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PDPH EBP vs SPG.... LMNOP
Hey all, Someone just recently posted something about SPG block in PDPH and that reminded me about it. I have heard there's loose evidence out there that says SPG is a viable alternative to EBP. I'm wondering, does anyone do these as part of their practice? What are your experiences? Is it worth incorporating? Please share dosing/technique too. I did it on a moderate severity PDPH on a normal BMI lady who had a 3 attempt labor epidural, converted to c section. Headache was frontal... PDPH EBP vs SPG.... Does Undergrad school choice matter
Does which university you go to matter for getting into dental school? Or is it irrelevant and grades more important for an applicant? I know schools usually only accept a certain amount of CC credits, so I'm planning to go straight to a university to avoid headache and complications when applying. I'm looking at which universities are cheapest in my area and found one but I'm concerned if it will single me out as "oh you went to XYZ ". With Dental School tuition expensive and increasing... Weird case
Did an L5-S1 interlam on a seemingly normal 31 year old guy with a central disc at the same level. Calls almost a week later with complaints of severe positional headache not relieved by fluids, caffeine, Tylenol or Advil. Saw him yesterday, says headaches are intermittent but severe and only relieved by ice and laying down. Here are the pics. Doesn’t look like a wet tap at all, but can’t deny the complaints of spinal headache. To blood patch or not to blood patch. Explained to him in... Weird case (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Wet tap, COVID + patient
Good Evening, need to pick your collective brains... Patient s/p NSVD with a labor epidural. Develops a spinal headache. Would you do a blood patch if the patient is COVID positive (asymptomatic). If not, other options (cosyntropin? blood patch with saline?) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

expert witnesses?
Had a patient 2.5 years ago who committed suicide on oxycodone I had prescribed. Was taking 6 5/325s of oxycodone per day for cervical and lumbar spondylosis. No history of suicidal ideation, scored 2 on the ORT, PMP always good, no early refills. Was a patient for ten years. Was getting botox for cervicogenic headache (rebound excluded) every 3 months. Seen by me (not NPs) every 3 months. UDS 1X per year and narcotic contract. Had one UDS 5 years ago that tested well below threshold of... expert witnesses? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dyspnea And Skin Discoloration In A Transplant Patient — What’s The Cause?
What medication is associated with this patient’s presentation? A 41-year-old male patient presents to the emergency department with dyspnea, headache, vomiting, and weakness. He had a kidney transplant nine years ago, and has been on a stable anti-rejection regimen. He has allergies to ciprofloxacin and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. Physical examination reveals gray-blue discoloration of the nose, fingers, and toes. A chest X-ray and ECG are both unremarkable. Arterial blood gas... Reversal of androgenic alopecia in Lung Cancer.
Has anyone heard of this? I have a patient who just presented with weight loss and headache- found to have CA lung (most likely, biopsy pending) and a cerebellar lesion. He has always been completely bald but over the past few months, his hair have grown back and now has a full head of hair!! Im guessing its some kind of paraneoplastic phenomenon, but I couldn't find any info? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
