Impact of pneumococcal conjugate vaccination on pneumococcal nasopharyngeal carriage in the Gambia: Population-based cross-sectional surveys
CONCLUSIONS: Introduction of PCV was associated with reduced VT pneumococcal carriage in young, and older children, although with substantial residual prevalence. Persisting VT, and non-VT, carriage indicate significant, persistent transmission of pneumococci in the population.PMID:38490820 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2024.02.066 (Source: Vaccine)

Identifying trusted local sources and predicting behavior change pathways according to COVID-19 vaccination status: Results of a 2022 statewide survey of Alaskan adults
CONCLUSIONS: These findings will help inform the design and targeting of future vaccine promotion interventions to adult populations in Alaska. Interventions that leverage reflective motivation and social opportunity domains of the COM-B framework may be most effective. Local community members including firefighters and emergency medical technicians, as well as medical professionals may be perceived as the most trustworthy and influential messengers among those who are not fully vaccinated and boosted.PMID:38490821 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2024.03.027 (Source: Vaccine)

Do boys have the same intentions to get the HPV vaccine as girls? Knowledge, attitudes, and intentions in France
CONCLUSIONS: These findings reveal a high percentage of boys who do not feel concerned by the HPV vaccine and highlight the need to consider the psychological antecedents of vaccination in general in addition to the specific attitudes to the HPV vaccine.PMID:38490822 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2024.02.080 (Source: Vaccine)

The effect of SARS-COV-2 variant on non-respiratory features and mortality among vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated patients
CONCLUSIONS: Risk of non-respiratory features of COVID-19 is statistically higher in those not fully vaccinated across all variants. Risk of death and correlation with vaccination status varied.PMID:38490824 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2024.02.036 (Source: Vaccine)
