Impacts of evidence-based nursing combined with enteral nutrition on nutritional status and quality of life in acute cerebral infarction patients: A randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSION: EBN combined with EN can improve the nutritional status and the quality of life in ACI patients compared with the traditional routine nursing, and is suggested as a valuable strategy for clinical management of ACI.PMID:38156428 | DOI:10.1177/02676591231223910 (Source: Perfusion)

Designing and maintaining a rescue extracorporeal life support program: A holistic simulation approach
Perfusion. 2023 Dec 29:2676591231225717. doi: 10.1177/02676591231225717. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTRescue Extracorporeal Life Support Programs based at non-cardiac surgery centers have unique needs to be able to ensure successful outcomes despite low patient volumes. In this paper we describe the important role simulation had in each stage of development, implementation, and maintenance of our pediatric Rescue ECLS Program. Systems-focused simulations were used to develop robust workflows, processes, and bundles. Simulation-based education targeted the acquisition and maintenance of clinical skills for individual team ...

Hyperlactatemia in patients undergoing pulmonary endarterectomy with deep hypothermic circulatory arrest: Risk factors and its effects on the outcome
CONCLUSIONS: Deep hypothermic circulatory arrest duration, nadir hematocrit, and preoperative pulmonary vascular resistance were associated with hyperlactatemia. Increased lactate levels were independent predictors of longer mechanical ventilation time, intensive care unit length of stay, and major complications.PMID:38124315 | DOI:10.1177/02676591231208984 (Source: Perfusion)
