Intraoperative Neuromonitoring for Tethered Cord Surgery in Infants: Challenges and Outcome
Conclusions: The study has highlighted that the use of IONM is sensitive in identifying motor injury in infants with reliable outcome correlation. Assessment, monitoring, and outcome correlation of bladder and sphincteric functions are a challenge in this cohort.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Comparison of Perioperative Outcomes and Parental Satisfaction Outcomes of Strip Craniectomy with Postoperative Helmet versus Spring-Mediated Remodeling in Sagittal Craniosynostosis
Conclusions: Perioperative outcomes and average parental satisfaction were similar in both groups. Importance of helmet wear compliance and risk of spring dislodgement should be discussed with parents.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Occult Brain Arteriovenous Malformation Superimposed on a Pial Arteriovenous Fistula: Case Report
Conclusion: This case demonstrates the importance of intraoperative imaging and meticulous circumferential inspection of these lesions to detect residual vascular shunting.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Combined Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy and Single-Event Multilevel Surgery in a Child with Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy: A Case Report
Conclusion: Multidisciplinary teams may consider combined SDR/SEMLS for management of spasticity, gait impairment, and contracture in carefully selected patients with spastic CP.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Surgical Treatment of Congenital Dermal Sinus: An Experience of 56 Cases
Conclusion: A pinpoint ostium in the dorsal midline is the characteristic feature of congenital dermal sinus. In cases without intraspinal lesions on MRI, the spinal canal should be explored intraoperatively to ensure complete removal of the lesion and prevent recurrences. In cases without CNS infection, early diagnosis and timely surgery are beneficial to the recovery of nerve function.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Bilateral Parietal Skull Fractures in Infants Attributable to Accidental Falls
Conclusion: While AHT should be kept in the differential diagnosis whenever BPSFs are seen, these injuries can occur as a result of accidental falls.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

White Cord Syndrome after Thoracic Cord Decompression in a Pediatric Patient
Conclusion: Most cases in the literature occur in older adults with chronic cervical compression. Only 1 pediatric case, caused by a cervical arachnoid cyst, has been reported and only resulted in partial improvement. Our case is the first pediatric case of WCS to occur in the thoracic spine, the first pediatric case to demonstrate complete resolution, and the first case of any age to start to establish a length of time the compression is needed to be at risk for WCS.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Multiple Tumor-Associated Intracranial Aneurysms Adjacent to a Suprasellar Germ Cell Tumor: Case Report and Review of Literature
We describe a 4-year-old female with multiple intracranial aneurysms intimately associated with a suprasellar germ cell tumor (GCT). We provide the clinical history, medical, and surgical treatment course, as well as a comprehensive and concise synthesis of the literature on tumor-associated aneurysms.Discussion: We discuss mechanisms for aneurysm formation with relevance to the current case, including cellular and paracrine signaling pertinent to suprasellar GCTs and possible molecular pathways involved. We review the complex multidisciplinary treatment required for complex tumor and cerebrovascular interactions.Pediatr N...

Exclusive Neurogenic Bladder and Fecal Incontinency in an Achondroplasic Child Successfully Treated with Lumbar Foraminal Decompression
Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first case report of exclusive neurogenic bladder and fecal incontinence in an achondroplasic child. Neurogenic bladder and fecal incontinence without motor impairment may be early and exclusive clinical findings of lumbar stenosis in children with achondroplasia.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Tetrad of Split Cord Malformation I with Neuroenteric Cyst, Dermoid Cyst, and Thickened Filum Terminale in a 2-Year-Old Child: A Case Report
Conclusion: NEC and dermoid should be considered in the differential diagnosis when imaging reveals cystic pathology along with SCM. Expeditious surgical repair resulted in an outstanding functional outcome at 1-year follow-up.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

GCS-Pupil Score Has a Stronger Association with Mortality and Poor Functional Outcome than GCS Alone in Pediatric Severe Traumatic Brain Injury
Conclusions: GCS-P, by incorporating pupil reactivity to GCS scoring, is more strongly associated with mortality and poor functional outcome at PICU discharge in children with sTBI.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Indeterminate Cell Histiocytosis of the Spine: A Case Report
Conclusion: ICH is an extraordinarily rare neoplastic disease of dendritic cells that has a poorly understood pathogenesis. This case expands the spectrum of potential ICH extracutaneous involvement to now include the spine, a location previously undocumented in the literature in the pediatric population.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Management of a Persistent Oblique Occipital Sinus with Staged Ligation in a Case of Medulloblastoma: A Case Report
Conclusion: Surgeons should carefully analyze venous anatomy before posterior fossa surgeries. The persistent dominant OS, when present, should be taken care of while planning the durotomy. A hypoplastic but persistent transverse sinus allowed us to ligate and divide the OS. By doing a staged division of the sinus, reorganization of the venous outflow from the torcula can be allowed to occur, and the lesion can be resected.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)

Endovascular Treatment of an Arteriovenous Malformation Associated with a Double Origin of the Posterior Inferior Cerebellar Artery
Conclusion: Navigation through tortuous and long branches from a DOPICA is technically feasible. Although NBCA cure rates are relatively low, when the microcatheter can no longer navigate through the feeding artery, a correct dilution of NBCA with lipiodol can provide adequate penetration of this embolic agent, to obliterate the AVM nidus completely.Pediatr Neurosurg (Source: Pediatric Neurosurgery)
