The Effect of Preventable Harm Simulation on Entry-Level Nurses' Clinical Judgment
Beginning nurses face challenges such as increased care complexities, an aging patient population, and the knowledge-to-practice gap, resulting in practice errors. The project used preventable harm simulation scenarios, using the Lasater Clinical Judgment Rubric to evaluate clinical judgment behaviors in pre- and postsimulation exercises and a 30-minute facilitator-led group discussion. Eight-two percent of the LCJR scores increased from the presimulation (mean 25.86; SD 3.93) to postsimulation (mean 30.59; SD 4.58). (Source: Nurse Leader)

Representation Matters
A diverse health leadership team can enhance quality outcomes, help reduce social disparities, and even affect an organization ’s reputation. In 2020, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing reported minorities make up approximately 19% of the nursing workforce.1 Yet, according to a 2020 report by Berlin et al.,2 only 5% of health care C-suite positions are held by minority women. Fostering Excellence in Health Care
Nurses and nurse leaders comprise the largest segment of the health care workforce and take on significant responsibility as advocates for patients, families, and their teams. As gatekeepers for safe, quality patient care and healthy work environments for their teams, nurse leaders navigate complex and often chaotic situations that require ethical assessment, analysis, and decision-making. Nurse leaders equipped with ethical knowledge, skills, and behaviors lead with strengthened confidence and reduced moral distress. (Source: Nurse Leader)

Sharing Leadership Vulnerability
Nurse leaders confront many complex challenges during their day. The emotional well-being of the nurse leader may continue to erode when situations requiring ethical consideration present themselves. The cumulative effect of continued moral distress can create moral residue, linked to disequilibrium of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Leaders sharing their stories is a powerful way to create meaning and connection while helping to alleviate emotional distress and improve mental well-being. (Source: Nurse Leader)

The Relationship Between a Professional Nurse Advancement Program and Nurse Retention
This study sought to evaluate whether implementing a professional nurse advancement program correlates with a reduction in registered nurse turnover. The Human Cost of Attrition
There is a knowledge gap concerning preceptor experiences, feelings, and attitudes following departure of recently trained staff. Employee resignations and insufficient academic admissions to backfill current vacancies reinforce the critical need to support preceptors responsible for staff on-boarding. This paper presents a study on a qualitative approach to explore preceptor feelings, attitudes, and experiences following voluntary departure of recently trained staff. Themes included preceptor role commitment, feelings of inadequacy and emotional distress, the need to find closure following staff departures, variances in i...
