Incidence of opioid induced constipation in the pediatric intensive care unit: a descriptive cohort study
CONCLUSION: These results indicate that opioid use is not the sole risk factor for constipation in the PICU setting. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.PMID:38142301 | DOI:10.1002/jpen.2592 (Source: JPEN Journal Of Parenteral And Enteral Nutrition)

Absence of association between low calf circumference, adjusted or not for adiposity, and ICU mortality in critically ill adults: a secondary analysis of a cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Calf circumference BMI-adjusted did not exhibit independent associations with ICU and in-hospital death, nor did ICU and in-hospital LOS compared to its unadjusted measurement. However, low calf circumference (unadjusted and BMI-adjusted) was independently associated with ICU readmission, mainly when analyzed as a continuous variable. This article is protected by copyright. High protein intake and nitrogen balance in patients on venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation: a descriptive cohort study
CONCLUSION: Nitrogen equilibrium can be achieved with high protein intake in adults on VV-ECMO. NB monitoring is one tool to individualize protein prescriptions throughout the course of VV ECMO. Outcomes for central venous catheter repair in patients receiving long term home parenteral support: A descriptive cohort study
CONCLUSION: This is the largest single-centre experience to demonstrate that CVCs, including PICCs, used for the administration of HPS, can be safely repaired prolonging CVC longevity without leading to an increased risk of CRBSI.
