Protein and energy intake in Intensive Care Unit survivors during the first year of recovery: A descriptive cohort study
CONCLUSION: This study shows that protein and energy intake is below recommendations in the majority of ICU survivors during the first year of recovery. Continuous and improved nutritional care is urgently needed to support patients in reaching nutritional adequacy. This article is protected by copyright. Factors associated with enteral autonomy after reanastomosis in infants with intestinal failure and ostomy: A descriptive cohort study
CONCLUSION: Shorter duration of intestinal discontinuity and enteral nutrition before RA could positively influence EA and duration of stay in infants with IF and ostomy following RA. Derivation of the Screening of Nutritional Risk in Intensive Care (SCREENIC) risk prediction score: a secondary analysis of a prospective cohort study
CONCLUSION: The SCREENIC score comprises questions with variables that do not require detailed nutritional history. It exhibited moderate agreement, high sensitivity with mNUTRIC, and independent predictive capability. Further evaluation of its applicability, reproducibility, and validity in guiding nutrition therapy is needed using large external cohorts. This article is protected by copyright. Nutritional guidelines for preterm infants: A systematic review
CONCLUSIONS: Future development of nutritional guidelines for preterm infants should follow the standard guideline development method and ensure the rigorous process including stakeholders involvement to improve the reporting of strength of recommendation, certainty of evidence, and gaps in recommendation. Evidence is needed to support recommendations about macro and micronutrient intakes, breastmilk fortification, and markers on adequacy of intake of different nutrients.
