Influence of Cognitive Load on Voice Production: A Scoping Review
Cognitive-motor interactions in speech production have a strong theoretical basis. However, majority of the existing literature has primarily focused on subjective and objective measures related to speech and not voice. This systematic review gathered evidence on the potential relationship between cognitive load and voice production. A search of five databases, website, citation review, and author search were completed in a sequential order to find published and unpublished literature from 1992 to 2022 using a combination of search terms including voice, cognitive load/demand/effort/flexibility, dual task, and speech produ...

The Acoustics of Gender in Indian English: Toward Forensic Profiling in a Multilingual Context
This study investigates fundamental frequency (fo), fo range, fo variance, formant frequencies, and vowel space size in 42 native male and female speakers of Odia, Bangla, and Hindi. Furthermore, it investigated the potential correlation between fundamental frequency and vowel space, examining whether variations in vowel space size could be influenced by gender-specific perceptual factors. Comparative Histoanatomy of the Epiglottis and Pre-epiglottic Space of the Chimpanzee Larynx
Understanding of the evolution of the larynx clarifies the physiology and functional histoanatomy of the present-day human organ. Comparative histoanatomy of the epiglottis and pre-epiglottic space of the chimpanzee larynx (a hominid, phyletic closest relative of humans) was investigated. (Source: Journal of Voice)

Acoustic analysis of normal voice patterns in North Indian population
Acoustic analysis of voice provides objective values which can be used for treatment follow-up, comparison, and analysis. There are a variety of programs available for this purpose, but none of these provide a normative value. The reason being that the acoustic parameters vary with age, gender, and ethnicity. The study was done to create standardized values of acoustic parameters in north Indian Hindi speakers for clinical use. (Source: Journal of Voice)

Dynamic Analysis Of Male “Extra-high Voice” Using Multi-row Detector Computed Tomography
Some people who practice singing on a daily basis may be able to produce a voice higher than the upper limit of the normal range (extra high voice), but there is much regarding the movement of the larynx that remains unknown. We have been conducting dynamic analysis of the larynx using multi-row detection computed tomography (MD-CT) at our university and report herein an analysis of the extra high voice. Effects of Increased Nasal Volume due to Topical Adrenaline on the Voice
Resonance properties of the nasal and sinus cavities are involved in the individuality of speech. However, detailed information on how alterations in the nasal cavity morphology affect voice quality is lacking. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of structural changes in the nasal cavity on voice production by spraying a topical adrenaline solution with a vasoconstrictive effect into the nasal cavity, causing nasal mucosal contraction. Preliminary Perceptual Findings of Singing After Flow Phonation Voice Exercises for Singers in Training
Goals of voice therapy and vocal pedagogy share similar principles and therefore, therapy approaches designed to improve the disordered voice may be equally effective when used to enhance healthy voice and vice versa. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of flow phonation voice exercises on vocal characteristics of students in undergraduate vocal music training programs and examine their potential use in vocal pedagogy. Reinke ’s Edema: New Insights into Voice Analysis, a Retrospective Study
Reinke's edema (RE) is a pathological condition involving increased volume of the vocal folds and resulting in significant impact on speech, fundamental frequency, and vocal range. Literature reports few studies which analyze vocal features according to the severity of RE. The aims of this study were to investigate the aerodynamics, acoustic characteristics, and sound spectrograms of a group of RE patients and to assess whether there was any correlation with their endoscopic grading.
