Clinical value of a novel three-dimensional echocardiography derived index of right ventricle-pulmonary artery coupling in tricuspid regurgitation
Echocardiographic surrogates of right ventricle (RV) to pulmonary artery (PA) coupling have been reported to be associated with outcomes in secondary tricuspid regurgitation (STR). However, pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) is difficult to estimate using echocardiography in patients with severe STR. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the predictive power of a surrogate of RV/PA coupling obtained using RV volumes measured by three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE). Membership in the American Society of Echocardiography: An Unforgettable Journey
As I look back over my years of membership in the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), I am filled with both a sense of awe and a deep gratitude for all the opportunities that I have had to participate and grow in our Society. From my initial abstract presentation at the Scientific Sessions as a fellow over 25  years ago, I can’t help but remember all the individuals at ASE who have shaped and guided my career, all the task forces and committees that I have been able to serve on, and all the leadership roles that have allowed me to more fully appreciate the depth and breadth of our Society. Continuing Education and Meeting Calendar
The American Society of Echocardiography is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. ASE recognizes courses as supplements to formal training in an established echocardiographic laboratory. For more information about a course, please call the number listed. To list a course in the Continuing Education and Meeting Calendar, send the date(s), title, location, provider, course director(s), and contact information to ASE, Attn: Education Dept, 2530 Meridian Parkway, Suite 450, Durham, NC 27713; Tel: 919-861-5574 x7206; E-mail: Education@ASE...

Normal Values and Reference Ranges for the Ratio of Transmitral Early Filling Velocity to Early Diastolic Strain Rate: The Copenhagen City Heart Study
The ratio of transmitral early filling velocity to early diastolic strain rate (E/e'sr) has recently emerged as a measure of left ventricular filling pressure. Reference values are needed for this new parameter for it to be used clinically. (Source: Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography)

Post –Septal Myectomy Coronary-Cameral Fistula: A Brief Review and Search for Underlying Mechanisms
A coronary artery fistula draining into the cardiac chamber is referred to as a coronary-cameral fistula (CCF). CCFs are rare, with the incidence reported to be 0.002% of the general population.1 CCFs can be congenital or may be acquired in a variety of ways. Acquired CCFs account for 35% of all CCFs.2 An acquired CCF usually occurs secondary to septal myectomy, acute myocardial infarction, percutaneous coronary angioplasty, coronary artery bypass grafting, cardiac transplantation, multiple endomyocardial biopsies, pacemaker placement, ablation of an accessory pathway, or chest irradiation. Right Ventricular Remodeling in Elite Basketball Athletes
Athletes participating in sports with high levels of either isometric, dynamic, or combined training have left (LV) and right ventricular (RV) dilation, increases in LV wall thickness, and increases in ventricular mass.1 Chronic bouts of high-intensity, dynamic, and combined exercise may also place a disproportionate load on the right ventricle (RV).1 African American basketball players as a whole are underrepresented in the literature, and there is a lack of data on measurements of their RV structure and function. Contrast Stress Echocardiography Findings in Myocardial Bridging Compared to Normal Coronary Course, With and Without Coronary Artery Disease
Myocardial bridging (MB) correlation with ischemia remains a diagnostic challenge. There is a lack of studies that have assessed MB using contrast stress echo and compared the findings with those in patients demonstrating a normal coronary course, with or without obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD).
