ConclusionsDespite the potential obstacles, the findings in Latvia, as well as other countries, show that the MUR service contributes to the benefit of patients, pharmacists and also physicians; therefore, further steps should be taken to eliminate obstacles and gain additional insights to implement the MUR service in Latvia. The impact of the increase in import verification fees on local production capacity of selected medicines in Uganda
ConclusionsLocal pharmaceutical production capacity increased with the increase in import verification fees with significant increases in production of oral liquids and capsules. Successful implementation of policies supporting local production will promote the development of local pharmaceutical industries. Governments should consider increasing the list of medicines to benefit from the import verification fees increase by adding all essential generic medicines for which there is adequate domestic production capacity and technical skills. Evaluating self-medication practices in Ethiopia
ConclusionsSelf-medication with antibiotics was common among the study participants. The prevalence of general self-medication was 71%, whereas that of self-medication with antibiotics was 48.3%. ConclusionInterprofessional collaboration was initially high and not influenced by the addition of a pharmacist, perhaps reflecting the inherent nature of the general practices willing to include a pharmacist within their team.
