ConclusionsThe study highlights the training needs of pharmacists and priority focus areas for health leadership to advance AMS within the African context. Context-specific identification of priority areas supports a needs-based approach to programme development, maximising African pharmacists ’ contribution to AMS for improved and sustainable patient outcomes. This study recommends incorporating conflict management, behaviour change techniques, and advocacy, amongst others, as areas of focus to train pharmacist leaders to contribute to AMS effectively. ConclusionsThe observations from the study have identified the RBA process which can be implemented to reduce regulatory assessment times while assuring the timeous approval of safe and effective, quality medicines. The continuous monitoring of a process remains one of the critical tools required to ensure the effectiveness of a registration process. Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the availability of maternal and child health products and childhood vaccines
ConclusionThis study illustrates that the availability of key essential medicines for maternal and child health in the study area was low. The overall stock-out situation of MCH products has worsened during COVID-19 compared to pre-COVID-19 pandemic. None of the surveyed MCH products met the ideal availability benchmark of 80% in the public hospitals. To allow governments to guarantee these products are constantly available and affordable, a variety of policy frameworks and choices addressing inevitable epidemics should exist. Assessment of medicines cold chain storage conformity with the requirements of the World Health Organization in health facilities of the Eastern Province of Rwanda
ConclusionsThe medicines cold chain storage conformity investigated in seven districts of the Eastern Province in Rwanda was better than reported previously in other LMICs. However, cold chain storage for pharmacy stock often did not meet the requirements. The observed drawback represented a serious risk to public health. Extent of cardiovascular medications dispensing practice  without a prescription: Self-reported and simulated patient-based study at community pharmacies in Northwest Ethiopia
ConclusionA significant proportion of CDROs dispensed cardiovascular medications without a prescription. The findings highlight the disparity between self-reported and actual CDRO practices. Additionally, nearly all of the CDROs approached made it simple to obtain cardiovascular medications.
