Effects of Art and Reminiscence Therapy on Agitated Behaviors Among Older Adults With Dementia
Conclusions The findings of this study support that art therapy may have a positive effect on dementia-associated agitated behaviors in institutionalized older adults. Reminiscence therapy activities conducted weekly for 50 minutes each session did not reach statistically significant implications. It is suggested that future studies consider conducting art and reminiscence therapies for a 16-week duration with two weekly sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of the therapy. The duration of follow-up should be extended as well in future studies. (Source: Journal of Nursing Research)

Changes in Health-Related Quality of Life for Older Persons With Cognitive Impairment After Hip Fracture Surgery: A Systematic Review
Conclusions We recommend nursing care interventions for older persons with cognitive impairment be initiated immediately after surgery for hip fracture to prevent a significant decline in HRQoL. Further examination of interventions that are effective in maintaining HRQoL for these patients such as interdisciplinary care is necessary. In addition, the influences of hip fracture type and surgical approach on changes in HRQoL suggest a need for further investigations to determine what contributed to the observed inconsistencies in the outcomes. Gender Differences in Hypertension Treatment and Control in Young Adults
Conclusions The factors affecting the treatment and control of hypertension differed between the two genders. Therefore, healthcare providers should consider the differences in the factors between the two genders in early adulthood. To improve the treatment and control of hypertension, the guidelines for treatment interventions and management should be gender-specific from early adulthood. Nurses should actively suggest health-related behavioral modifications such as performing aerobic exercise for young adult men and reducing alcohol consumption for women.
