Treatment of Unique Bilateral Distal Fusiform Superior Cerebellar Artery Aneurysms with Mini-Flow Diverter Device Implantation: Case Report
We report the unique case of bilateral distal fusiform SCA aneurysms in a 43-year-old man with subarachnoid hemorrhage (Fisher grade IV and World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies [WFNS] grade II) treated with endovascular implantation of bilateral mini-FDDs with excellent outcome and no radiographic signs of infarction. Yet, occlusion of one of the FDDs was found in the follow-up, which again shows the eminent danger of occlusion in case of an implantation of FDDs in such small-caliber vessels, which leaves the discussion about the optimal therapy method open. Thoracic Spinal Angiolipomas: A Systematic Review
Conclusions SAs are rare, benign tumors with a great vascular component that presents a favorable outcome. GTR is the gold standard treatment and usually an adjuvant therapy is not required. Even infiltrative lesions, which are more complex, can be treated successfully with a good prognosis. Dumbbell-shaped SAs must be differentiated from schwannomas and meningiomas, and require different surgical techniques, given the profuse bleeding associated with the attempt of debulking. En block resection is the key to treat these common benign tumors with acceptable blood loss. [...] Georg Thieme Verlag KG Rüdigerstraße 14, 704...

Pituitary Adenomas Associated with Intracranial Aneurysms: the Clinical Characteristics, Therapeutic Strategies, and Possible Effects of Vascular Remodeling Factors
Conclusion Intracranial aneurysms were found to coexist in 2.6% of cases of surgically treated pituitary adenomas. VEGF-induced arterial wall remodeling may be part of the mechanism of association between pituitary adenomas and cerebral aneurysms, suggesting possible causative mechanism. Association between Brachycephaly, Chiari Malformation, and Basilar Invagination
Conclusions In this study, BI patients had the highest CI among patients with CVJM and a significantly higher CI than those in the control group. Our data confirm the association between BI and brachycephaly. Morphometric Anatomy of the Posterior Aspect of the Atlas and the Vertebral Artery Groove in Relation to Lateral Mass Screw Placement
Conclusion Our result provided the literature with a detailed database for the morphometry of C1, especially in relation to the vertebral artery groove. We believe that the data in the present study can help surgeons to adopt a more accurate approach in terms of accurate lateral mass screw placement in atlantoaxial instability. Local Anesthesia and Conscious Sedation Does Not Affect Patient's Mood and Anxiety Levels during Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Diskectomy: A Prospective Study
Conclusion The results of our study show that patients' awareness of the surgical environment in the operating room under LACS does not significantly affect their mood and anxiety levels and patients do not seem to endure increased emotional stress during the PELD operation, as compared with PELD operation under GA. Surgical Treatment of Multilevel Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy: Open-Door Laminoplasty and Fixation via Unilateral Approach. A Feasibility Study
Conclusion Laminoplasty and unilateral fixation via a unilateral approach achieved comparable clinical and radiologic results with laminectomy and bilateral fixation, despite a lower fusion rate. However, the surgical traumatization was less. A Review of Remote Intracerebral Hemorrhage after Chronic Subdural Hematoma Evacuation
Conclusions RICH following cSDH represents a rare occurrence and a serious complication, associated with elevated morbidity. Careful monitoring of drain speed after cSDH evacuation surgery is recommended, and minimally invasive techniques such as twist drill craniostomy are suggested, especially for massive cSDHs. Minimally Invasive Surgical Technique for the Management of Giant Dumbbell Spinal Schwannoma
Conclusions Microsurgery is the treatment of choice for spinal schwannomas, and gross total resection with low morbidity must be the surgical goal. Mini-open interlaminar and far-lateral access is a valid surgical option, with low morbidity in experienced hands, and there is no need for spinal instrumentation. Granular Cell Tumor and Spindle Cell Oncocytoma of the Pituitary Gland: Imaging and Intraoperative Cytology Diagnostic Dilemmas and Management Challenges
Conclusions GCTs and SCOs are relatively uncommon tumors that are difficult to diagnose on preoperative imaging. Intraoperative squash cytology too can pose challenges. A preoperative suspicion can prepare the surgeon for surgery of these hypervascular tumors. The transcranial approach may be necessary in cases of uncertainty in imaging.
