Localized Scleroderma in the Pediatric Population
Localized scleroderma is an uncommon condition that affects the skin and underlying tissues. Although the pathogenesis is not well understood, lesions of localized scleroderma develop from an initial inflammatory reaction that results in collagen deposition, fibrosis, and atrophy.
