Effects of Oral Magnesium Supplementation on Vascular Function: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
ConclusionsThis meta-analysis suggest that oral Mg supplementation may improve endothelial function when conducted at least for 6  months and in unhealthy, overweight or older individuals. Registration number: PROSPERO CRD42019111462. (Source: High Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Prevention)

Parental Perception of Children ’s Weight Status: Love Overpasses Scientific Evidence! A Cross-Sectional Observational Study
ConclusionsA high percentage of children is overweight or obese and almost half of parents classified their weight status incorrectly. Increasing children ’s body mass index percentiles decreases the probability to be correctly classified. (Source: High Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Prevention)

Antihypertensive Prescribing Pattern in Older Adults: Implications of Age and the Use of Dual Single-Pill Combinations
ConclusionThe updated guidelines for hypertension treatment in older adults have had a limited impact on primary care practice in Bahrain. In both age groups, there was a high positive correlation between the number of antihypertensive drugs prescribed and prescribing unacceptable combinations. Unacceptable combinations comprising SPC-related antihypertensive therapy duplication were more common than those reported elsewhere. Introducing approved triple SPCs may discourage prescribing unacceptable antihypertensive drugs and their combinations that lack robust evidence. Hypertension Control Rate Should be Defined Consistently and Used to Motivate Action to Improve
AbstractHypertension has been poorly controlled with the old target of less than 140/90 (mmHg). Currently, the average control rate in the United States is about 50% with the old goal of 140/90. If the new goal of 130/80 is used, the control rate would dramatically decrease. For hypertension management, the traditional stepped-care method needs to be replaced with new approaches using single-pill combination pharmacotherapy (polypill) or using hemodynamic data for drug selection and titration to target underlying cardiovascular abnormalities when cardiovascular disease is present. With the old goal of 140/90, these new app...
