Effects of Colchicine on Cardiovascular Outcomes in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease: A Systematic Review and One-Stage and Two-Stage Meta-Analysis of Randomized-Controlled Trials
ConclusionGiven the significant benefits of colchicine demonstrated on IPD, and its consistent benefits when analyzed using aggregate data meta-analysis, we propose that colchicine may be considered as an additional pharmacological adjunct to the first line therapy for patients with coronary artery disease. Short-Term Consequences of SARS-CoV-2-Related Pneumonia: A Follow Up Study
In conclusion, our study demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2-related pneumonia is associated to relevant short-term clinical consequences, both in terms of persistence of symptoms and in terms of impairment of DLCO (indicator of a possible development of pulmonary fibrosis); some severity indices of the disease may predict short-term clinical outcome. Further studies are needed to ascertain whether such manifestations may persist long-term. (Source: High Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Prevention)

Role of Statins in Coronavirus-Related Disease (COVID-19): A Retrospective Cohort Study in Northern Italy
ConclusionsAfter a period of observation of 100 days, ST patients, despite their older age and their greater load of comorbidities, have similar survival functions to NST patients. If adjusted for age and CCI the survival functions of ST group are considerably more favourable than those of the second group. (Source: High Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Prevention)

Elevated Ambulatory Blood Pressure Measurements are Associated with a Progressive Form of Fabry Disease
ConclusionHypertension can be found in a restricted portion of clinically stable Fabry patients. In contrast, patients presenting with a progressive organ involvement, particularly renal impairment, have a major risk of developing uncontrolled blood pressure, and should be followed carefully. Moreover, the ambulatory blood pressure monitoring proved to be useful to reveal masked hypertension, which can contribute to the progressive worsening of the organ damage. Therefore, a proper diagnosis and therapy of hypertension may improve the outcome of Fabry patients. (Source: High Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Prevention)

Real-World Hypertension Prevalence, Awareness, Treatment, and Control in Adult Diabetic Individuals: An Italian Nationwide Epidemiological Survey
ConclusionsElevated hypertension awareness and treatment rates in diabetic adults do not translate into adequate BP control in the real world. Concomitant unfavorable metabolic features and unhealthy lifestyle habits might contribute to this observation. (Source: High Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Prevention)
