Montreal Cognitive Assessment in a 63- to 65-year-old Norwegian Cohort from the General Population: Data from the Akershus Cardiac Examination 1950 Study
Conclusions: Approximately 50% scored below the cut-off score of 26 points, suggesting that the cut-off score may have been set too high to distinguish normal cognitive function from MCI. Educational level had a significant impact on MoCA scores.Dement Geriatr Cogn Disord Extra 2017;7:318 –327 (Source: Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Extra)

Comparison of Central, Ambulatory, Home and Office Blood Pressure Measurement as Risk Markers for Mild Cognitive Impairment in Hypertensive Patients
Conclusions: The correlation of central BP with target organ damage (MCI) is as good as for the other types of measurements of BP (home and ambulatory). Office BP seems to be the poorest marker for the assessment of target organ damage.Dement Geriatr Cogn Disord Extra 2017;7:274 –282 (Source: Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Extra)

Cognitive Deficits in Chronic Stroke Patients: Neuropsychological Assessment, Depression, and Self-Reports
Conclusion: Cognitive impairment occurs frequently even in patients in a chronic phase after stroke and predicts symptoms of depression. Using the Stroke Impact Scale, clinicians should be aware of low sensitivity of self-reported cognitive function.Dement Geriatr Cogn Disord Extra 2017;7:283 –296 (Source: Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Extra)

Cerebrospinal Fluid Apolipoprotein E Levels in Delirium
Conclusion: Reduced CSF apolipoprotein E levels during delirium may be a mechanistic link between two important risk factors for LOAD.Dement Geriatr Cogn Disord Extra 2017;7:240 –248 (Source: Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Extra)

Distinguishing Depressive Pseudodementia from Alzheimer Disease: A Comparative Study of Hippocampal Volumetry and Cognitive Tests
Conclusions: Our results suggest that evaluation of facial recognition and left hippocampal volume may provide more reliable evidence for distinguishing DPD from AD. Further investigations combined with functional imaging techniques including more patients are needed.Dement Geriatr Cogn Disord Extra 2017;7:230 –239 (Source: Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Extra)

Neuropsychological Differences Related to Age in Dementia with Lewy Bodies
Conclusion: Our study revealed that the nature of memory impairment in DLB patients changes according to age. DLB patients in the young-old and old-old age groups showed significantly better memory performance than the age-matched AD patients, whereas memory performance of the DLB patients in the oldest-old age group was similar to that of the age-matched AD patients. This may be associated with the increased rate of coexisting AD pathology in DLB patients with older age.Dement Geriatr Cogn Disord Extra 2017;7:188 –194 (Source: Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Extra)
