"You want them to be partners in therapy, but that's tricky when they're not there": A qualitative study exploring caregiver involvement across the continuum of care during the early COVID pandemic
CONCLUSIONS: Visitor restrictions prevent family caregivers from being physically present at patients' bedside, leading to complex and detrimental impacts such as caregivers feeling that they were not engaged in their loved one's care planning until they were discharged. In turn, discharge to the community was met with several challenges including caregivers feeling underprepared and unsupported to meet their loved one's unique care requirements. This was exacerbated by a lack of community-based resources due to ongoing pandemic restrictions.PMID:37518867 | DOI:10.1177/02692155231191011 (Source: Clinical Rehabilitation)

The impact of sport on the physical, psychological and social wellbeing of people with chronic breathlessness: A mixed-methods systematic review
CONCLUSIONS: Sports were well-adhered to with only minor/unrelated adverse events reported. Improvements in exercise capacity were observed although there was no impact on health-related quality of life. Other quantitative outcomes extracted varied widely across studies, making it difficult to draw firm conclusions. Participation in sports was reliably recorded at intensity consistent with moderate-to-vigorous activity despite being self-paced. Qualitative themes emphasised the positive elements of sport participation, namely, social cohesion, the capacity to incorporate culture, and the idea that participation is enjoyabl...

Efficacy of rehabilitation interventions evaluated in common neurological conditions in improving participation outcomes: A systematic review
CONCLUSION: There is a limited evidence of the identified rehabilitation interventions to improve participation in common neurological conditions. However, there was a paucity of articles involving individual with Parkinson's disease that met the inclusion criteria.PMID:37501621 | DOI:10.1177/02692155231191383 (Source: Clinical Rehabilitation)

Effectiveness of virtual reality interventions of the upper limb in children and young adults with cerebral palsy: A systematic review with meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Virtual reality seems to be an effective tool for upper limb activity in children and young adults with cerebral palsy. Nevertheless, future studies should present a better methodological quality, a larger sample size, and well-defined rehabilitation programs to reduce the inconsistency of the evidence in this domain.PMID:37499213 | DOI:10.1177/02692155231187858 (Source: Clinical Rehabilitation)
