Development of a goal-directed movement intervention (GOAL) using a movement sensor for hospitalized patients: An intervention mapping approach
CONCLUSION(S): This study shows the development of a goal-directed movement intervention aligned with the needs of healthcare professionals. This resulted in an intervention consisting of feedback & monitoring of movement behavior, goal setting and adjustments in the environment. Using a step-by-step iterative implementation model to guide development and implementation is recommended.PMID:37644843 | DOI:10.1177/02692155231198173 (Source: Clinical Rehabilitation)

Is there a relationship between 'getting up and dressed' and functional and physical outcomes in geriatric rehabilitation inpatients? A quasi-experimental study
CONCLUSION: The 'Ending Pyjama Paralysis' campaign did not result in enhanced functional or physical benefits in geriatric rehabilitation inpatients in this setting when applied in addition to usual care.PMID:37644886 | DOI:10.1177/02692155231197510 (Source: Clinical Rehabilitation)

Characteristics of goal-setting tools in adult rehabilitation: A scoping review
CONCLUSIONS: This study provides a comprehensive overview of existing goal-setting tools, highlighting their characteristics, target users and identified needs. These findings can enhance practitioners' awareness of the range of goal-setting tools available and can enable more effective utilization of these tools in clinical practice. Further research should investigate how clinicians can combine multiple tools to deliver goal setting.PMID:37644842 | DOI:10.1177/02692155231197383 (Source: Clinical Rehabilitation)

Exploring attitudes of people with chronic health conditions towards the use of group-based telerehabilitation: A qualitative study
CONCLUSIONS: Telerehabilitation is convenient for people with chronic conditions; however, concerns exist regarding the use of technology and the limitations of this healthcare delivery method. The role of telerehabilitation is valued, and future programmes should acknowledge patient preferences including a hybrid model of care, exercise and educational content, social interaction and synchronous components.PMID:37632125 | DOI:10.1177/02692155231197385 (Source: Clinical Rehabilitation)

The McKenzie Method versus guideline-based advice in the treatment of sciatica: 24-month outcomes of a randomised clinical trial
CONCLUSIONS: Multiple sessions of McKenzie-based back exercises with a McKenzie-specific patient's educational book produced effects equal to guideline-based advice at long-term follow-up. However, the power of these results is diminished due to the small patient population and confounding factors.PMID:37605454 | DOI:10.1177/02692155231196393 (Source: Clinical Rehabilitation)
