Effects of weekly pain monitoring on back pain outcomes: a non-randomised controlled study
ConclusionsFrequent pain monitoring did not demonstrate any negative effects of weekly pain monitoring, and it was perhaps even helpful. The role of self-monitoring as part of self-managing LBP should be explored further including optimal frequencies, formats, and methods for feedback.Trial registrationThe study was not registered as a clinical trial. A cross-sectional analysis of persistent low back pain, using correlations between lumbar stiffness, pressure pain threshold, and heat pain threshold
ConclusionsThe moderate correlation between spinal stiffness and mechanical pain sensitivity was the opposite of expected, meaning higher degrees of stiffness was associated with higher pressure pain thresholds. Reliability and validity of manual palpation for the assessment of patients with low back pain: a systematic and critical review
ConclusionReliability of manual palpation tests in the assessment of LBP patients varies greatly. This is problematic because these tests are commonly used by manual therapists and clinicians. Little is known about the validity of these tests; therefore, their clinical utility is uncertain. High quality validity studies are needed to inform the clinical use of manual palpation tests. Sonographic evaluation of the degree of medial meniscal extrusion during Thessaly test in healthy knees
ConclusionOur study ’s novel findings showed various degrees of physiological extrusion of the medial meniscus in asymptomatic knees during the loading phases involved in the Thessaly test. Physiological MME does exist and should not be defaulted to pathologic meniscus as previously described. Agreement parameters su ggest that measurement of meniscal extrusion during the Thessaly test is reproducible between different examiners. (Source: Chiropractic and Manual Therapies)

Perceptions and experiences of a manual therapy trial: a qualitative study of people with moderate to severe COPD
ConclusionsThe findings of this study show that a manual therapy intervention was received well by participants in a clinical trial setting. A small number of participants reported mild musculoskeletal discomfort in relation to the MET treatment.
