Total Cerebral Small Vessel Disease Burden Predicts the Outcome of Acute Stroke Patients after Intra-Arterial Thrombectomy
Conclusions: The total cSVD burden score was independently associated with the clinical outcomes of AIS patients after IAT treatment and it may be a reliable predictor for poor outcomes of AIS patients after IAT treatment.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Increased Two-Hour Post-Load Plasma Glucose Fluctuation Corresponds with Worse Clinical Prognoses among Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients without a History of Diabetes Mellitus
Conclusion: 2hPG-FPG is a relatively specific indicator of poorer 1-year clinical prognoses among AIS patients, independent of NDDM, 2hPG, and FPG post-hospital admission. Therefore, the oral glucose tolerance test could be a useful approach for detecting a higher likelihood for developing poorer prognoses among patients without DM history.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Treatment patterns for sickle cell disease among those with cerebrovascular disease in the US
Conclusions: There appears to be an underutilization overall of treatment options among SCD patients with CVD. Further research would confirm these trends and explore ways to increase utilization of standard treatments among SCD patients. (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Population-Attributable Risk Fractions for Antiplatelets and Anticoagulants in Spontaneous Intracranial Hemorrhages
Conclusion: Antithrombotic agents are significant risk factors for sICHs, and their contribution is increasing over time in Korea. These findings are expected to draw the attention of clinicians to precautions to be taken when prescribing antithrombotic agents.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of the Association between Residual Shunts after Patent Foramen Ovale Closure and Long-Term Cerebrovascular Events
Conclusions: The presence of RS significantly increases the risk of recurrent cerebrovascular events in patients with clinical PFO closure.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Cerebellar Superficial Siderosis in Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy on 1.5T T2*-Weighted Imaging
Conclusions: Cerebellar SS in CAA patients can be identified on 1.5T T2*-weighted imaging. Associated MRI characteristics suggest contamination from supratentorial macrobleeds.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Predictors of Early Neurological Improvement and Its Relationship to Thrombolysis Treatment and Long-Term Outcome in the WAKE-UP Study
Conclusion: Intravenous alteplase increases the odds of ENI in patients with at least moderate stroke severity, especially when given early. In patients with large-vessel occlusion, ENI is rarely observed without thrombectomy. ENI represents a good surrogate early marker of treatment effect as more than a third of good outcome at 90 days is explained by ENI at 24 h.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Sex Differences in Long-Term Functional Decline after Ischemic Stroke: A Longitudinal Observational Study from the Fukuoka Stroke Registry
Conclusion: This longitudinal observational study suggests that female sex was independently associated with an increased risk of functional decline in the chronic phase of stroke, especially in older patients. There was no sex difference in 5-year stroke recurrence, and thus, other factors might be involved in more significant deterioration of functional status in female survivors of ischemic stroke. Further studies are needed to elucidate underlying causes of sex differences in long-term functional decline after stroke.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Remnant Cholesterol and Common Carotid Artery Intima-Media Thickness in Community Population with Normal Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol
Conclusion: Elevated fasting remnant cholesterol levels were positively associated with abnormal cIMT in community population with normal LDL-C levels. Remnant cholesterol may be an important indicator of risk stratification in community population with normal LDL-C level.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Continuous and Early Progression of Carotid Intima-Media Thickness after Radiotherapy for Head and Neck Cancer: 5-Year Prospective Observational Study
Discussion: Radiotherapy for HNC induces continuous carotid mean IMT progression. The irradiated carotid arteries with mean IMT ≥1.0 mm before radiotherapy presented earlier IMT progression than those with mean IMT #x3c;1.0 mm.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)
