ASPECTS-Based Attenuation Changes on CT Angiography as an Imaging Biomarker to Predict Hemorrhagic Transformation in Acute Ischemic Stroke
Conclusion: CTASI-ASPECTS-HU is a reliable radiological predictor of HT and PH in patients with AIS. Its predictive efficacy is moderately improved when combined with NIHSS score.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Normobaric Oxygen Therapy in Acute Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: Studies of NBO have shown no significant effect on early neurological recovery, functional outcome, or mortality in acute stroke. Oxygen has been predominantly low-flow and commenced in the sub-acute phase.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

People with Stroke Are Most Sedentary in the Afternoon and Evening
Conclusion: People living at home after stroke are highly sedentary, particularly in the afternoons and evenings, and this pattern does not change during the first year after stroke. Clinicians should encourage people with stroke to find meaningful tasks to do during the day to reduce their sitting time. Researchers developing interventions to encourage people to sit less should include particular focus on the afternoon and evening time periods.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Risk Factors for General Anesthesia Conversion in Anterior Circulation Stroke Patients Undergoing Endovascular Treatment
Conclusion: In our study, tandem occlusion, longer endovascular procedures, SOFA, and number of pharmacological agents used predicted the risk of emergent conversion to GA in stroke patients undergoing endovascular treatment. Prospective studies investigating optimal CS strategies are deemed necessary.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Transient Global Cerebral Hypoperfusion as a Characteristic Cerebral Hemodynamic Pattern in the Acute Stage after Combined Revascularization Surgery for Pediatric Moyamoya Disease: N-Isopropyl-P-[ < sup > 123 < /sup > I] Iodoamphetamine Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography Study
Conclusions: This study revealed that the “transient hypoperfusion pattern” after revascularization surgery is relatively common among pediatric MMD patients, and its outcome is favorable under strict perioperative management.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Exercise-Based Cardiac Rehabilitation Associates with Lower Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events in People with Stroke
Conclusion: Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation prescribed for people following a stroke associated with significantly lower odds of major adverse cardiovascular events at 2 years, compared to usual care.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Implementing a Goal-Directed Care Bundle after Acute Intracerebral Haemorrhage: Process Evaluation for the Third INTEnsive Care Bundle with Blood Pressure Reduction in Acute Cerebral Haemorrhage Trial Study in China
Conclusions: Varied established care protocols across sites, different levels of background expertise, and lack of staff capacity impeded the integration of goal-directed care bundle into routine practice for ICH patients in China. Ready identification, and efforts to address, these barriers could facilitate uptake of future guideline-recommended interventions for the management of patients with ICH.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Underdosed Direct Oral Anticoagulants in Atrial Fibrillation Patients Reduce Stroke Severity and Improve Outcome
Conclusions: In patients with atrial fibrillation, recommended doses and underdoses of DOACs reduced stroke severity on admission and were associated with good 3-month outcomes.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Are Differences in Dysphagia Assessment, Oral Care Provision, or Nasogastric Tube Insertion Associated with Stroke-Associated Pneumonia? A Nationwide Survey Linked to National Stroke Registry Data
Conclusion: Variation exists in dysphagia screening and management, but there was no evidence of an association between clinical practice patterns and incidence of SAP. Further research with larger sample sizes is needed to examine association with SAP.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Association between Apolipoprotein E Polymorphism and Clinical Outcome after Ischemic Stroke, Intracerebral Hemorrhage, and Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Conclusions: In conclusion, the present study demonstratedAPOEε4 carriers show worse functional outcomes after ICH, but not after IS or SAH. More large-scale studies were critical to explore the association betweenAPOE polymorphism and clinical outcome after IS, ICH, and SAH.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Association of Multiple Passes during Mechanical Thrombectomy with Incomplete Reperfusion and Lesion Growth
Conclusions: Our findings suggest that incomplete reperfusion on post-EVT MRI is present even in some patients with successful recanalization at the time of EVT and is associated with multiple-pass thrombectomy, lesion growth, and worse outcome. Future studies are needed to investigate whether patients with residual hypoperfusion may benefit from immediate adjunctive therapy to limit lesion growth and improve clinical outcome.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)

Disparities in Secondary Prevention between Stroke and Coronary Heart Disease in China: Cross-Sectional Community-Based Study, 2014 –2016
Conclusion: Stroke patients had lower use of secondary CVD-preventive medication and achieved lower levels of risk factor control than those of CHD patients in China. Nationwide disease-specific strategies, and better education of participants and health care providers, may narrow these gaps.Cerebrovasc Dis (Source: Cerebrovascular Diseases)
