[Virtual teaching (e-learning) in Pediatric Urology. Master and expert course programme].
CONCLUSIONS: The demand of registrations demonstrates the need and interest of a pediatric Urology training program, through Master and Expert Courses. Virtual Training, e-learning, within the Virtual Campus of the UNIA is viable. This self-learning model is being highly valued by the international alumni. We offer an interesting supplement for continuous education in PU. PMID: 26179788 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Archivos Espanoles de Urologia)

Dynamic sentinel node biopsy in penile cancer. Indications, technique and results in a Spanish oncological center.
CONCLUSION: Sentinel node biopsy enables a correct lymph node staging avoiding the morbidity of inguinal lymph node dissection. The rate of technical failure and false negative results is low and it may be considered the diagnostic technique of choice in high and intermediate risk penile cancer with non-palpable lymph nodes. Healthcare-associated urinary tract infections in patients with a urinary catheter: Risk factors, microbiological characteristics and patterns of antibiotic resistance.
Authors: Jiménez-Alcaide E, Medina-Polo J, García-González L, Arrébola-Pajares A, Guerrero-Ramos F, Pérez-Cadavid S, Sopeña-Sutil R, Benítez-Sala R, Alonso-Isa M, Lara-Isla A, Passas-Martínez JB, Tejido-Sánchez Á Abstract OBJECTIVE: Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) are the most common nosocomial acquired infections, with high resistance rates. CAUTIs are a potentially severe complication in hospitalized patients and imply higher costs. Our aim was to analyze the characteristics of CAUTIs in our Urology department. METHODS...

Small cell carcinoma of the bladder: Our experience.
CONCLUSIONS: Even when small cell carcinoma of the bladder is a low incidence tumor, its prognosis is worse than that of urothelial carcinoma. Although further randomized studies are needed to best define treatment, this study shows that survival at local stages is optimized by neoadjuvant chemotherapy, followed by radical resection, as the literature suggests. [Risk of bias assessment of clinical trials published in iberoamerican urological journals].
CONCLUSIONS: Based on the Cochrane risk of bias tool assessment, most of the published trials do not accomplish an adequate description of the methods. We should also be aware that most of the trials lack an adequate sample size calculation that limits the power of these trials. We recommend better description of the methods for randomization, and increasing the sample size to improve the quality of the trials published in urologic iberoamerican journals. Assessment and prevalence of urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy: Analysis of a historical series.
CONCLUSIONS: Urinary incontinence is a disease with some prevalence that varies depending on definition. The most common situation was to leak several times a day (42.2%), a small amount (59.1%), using compress (69%) most of incontinents with a mild (0-7: 88.2%) impact on quality of life. Predictive factors were age (65 years) and prostate volume (50cc). The historical changes does not influence over prevalence.
