Relationship between occupational and leisure-time physical activity and the need for recovery after work
ConclusionAccording to this study, the OPA level is related to the level of the NFR in female ECEC professionals. Based on the results, it seems that LTPA has no relevance to the NFR. Results suggest that long-lasting OPA, even without strenuous physical activity at work, may predispose individuals to a high NFR. (Source: Archives of Public Health)

Health trajectories across the work exit transition in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s: the role of working conditions and policy
ConclusionAlthough these findings provide no support for our hypothesis of diverging health trajectories over time based on work exposure, they show that exiting at a higher age is linked to poorer pre- and post-exit health and to pre-post-exit increases in physical limitations, suggesting greater health care costs in the near future. Socioeconomic disparities in health outcomes in the United States in the late 2010s: results from four national population-based studies
ConclusionsOur results confirmed earlier, persistent evidence indicating socioeconomic disparities in respondent-rated poor health across all age and race/ethnicity groups by using four nationally representative datasets. In comparison to a decade earlier, socioeconomic disparities in poor health appeared to shrink while they emerged or increased for obesity. The results suggest an urgent need for action to alleviate pervasive health disparities by socioeconomic status. Further research is needed to investigate potentially modifiable factors underlying socioeconomic disparities in health, which may help design targeted hea...

Population-level predictors of sexually transmitted infection rate changes in Missouri: an ecological study
ConclusionsThere seems to be a positive relationship among population change and rates of STIs. As populations change, rates of STIs change. Moving forward, quantitative work should be conducted in various states and the nation to understand this relationship in different contexts. Future studies should be qualitative word focused on county health departments and community health improvement plans. Unravelling mechanisms underlying the action principles of a community-based health promotion programme: a realist evaluation
ConclusionIn this case study, personal contact, patience, perseverance, participatory action research activities, and visibility were found to be the most notable mechanisms underlying the citizen participation and intersectoral collaboration action principles. As the principle-based approach added value to the existing context and introduced most of the mechanisms that triggered the outcomes, it is recommended to include citizen participation and intersectoral collaboration not only as action principles but explicitly as targets in a CBHPP. Pre-pregnancy body mass index has greater influence on newborn weight and perinatal outcome than weight control during pregnancy in obese women
ConclusionFor women with increased pre-pregnancy BMI, strict weight control is required to reduce obesity-related complications of the mother and infant. The weight control in the second and third trimesters is especially important and most likely to prevent GWG. Compared with GWG, pre-pregnancy BMI has greater influence on the birth weight and maternal and infant complications, and may even compromise the benefits of weight control during pregnancy. Thus, weight control is recommended before pregnancy. (Source: Archives of Public Health)
