Pre-iliac tumor mass syndrome: An atypical rheumatoid nodule
We report here an atypical fistulized presentation of an unusual iliac rheumatoid nodule in a 65-year-old female patient. The evolution was favorable without recurrence at 6 months after complete surgical resection and appropriate antibiotherapy.PMID:37391344 | DOI:10.1016/j.anplas.2023.06.002 (Source: Annales de Chirurgie Plastique et Esthetique)

The star approach, a surgical approach for skin sparing mastectomy and central lumpectomies
Ann Chir Plast Esthet. 2023 Jun 27:S0294-1260(23)00064-X. doi: 10.1016/j.anplas.2023.06.003. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWhen preservation of the nipple-areolar complex (NAC) is not possible in oncologic breast surgery, the traditional approaches are either a horizontal incision centered on the NAC resulting in visible scars and breast distortion, or a round block with risk of healing difficulties. To address these concerns, the authors propose a star approach technique for skin sparing mastectomies and lumpectomies of central breast tumors. During the oncologic surgery, the NAC is removed with four cutaneous extensions,...

Comparison between different anchors for zone I flexor tendon repair
CONCLUSION: Our study did not find significant differences between the different anchors in terms of complications and functional recovery. Some anchors seem to have a better grip during placement than others.PMID:37302898 | DOI:10.1016/j.anplas.2023.05.003 (Source: Annales de Chirurgie Plastique et Esthetique)
