Breast restoration by the lipomodeling technique after breast sequelae following complications of reduction mammoplasty
CONCLUSION: After this study, lipomodeling, in association with ancillary procedures, seems to be an effective and safe solution to correct aesthetic sequelae following secondary complications of reduction mammoplasty. It should have a key role for the correction of these sequelae. An effective and appropriate care of these patients leads to good results and patients' final satisfaction, and manages to avoid any medico-legal proceeding, always badly lived as much for the patient as for the first surgeon.PMID:37516638 | DOI:10.1016/j.anplas.2023.07.004 (Source: Annales de Chirurgie Plastique et Esthetique)

The grafted frontalis muscle flap: A simple and efficient lining for aesthetic reconstruction of full thickness nasal sidewall defects
Ann Chir Plast Esthet. 2023 Jul 27:S0294-1260(23)00079-1. doi: 10.1016/j.anplas.2023.07.005. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe reconstruction of thin and well-vascularized lining is capital for the aesthetic reconstruction of full thickness nasal defects. The mucosal flaps allow such reconstruction, but their dissections are difficult and not always possible, particularly for large defects of the nasal sidewall unit. The grafted frontalis muscle flap allows easily such lining reconstruction. This technique includes 3 stages, all done under local anaesthesia: 1st stage: a vertical paramedian forehead flap is classically rai...

Interest of a 3D custom-made implant in the reconstruction of bone defects of the cranial vault
Ann Chir Plast Esthet. 2023 Jul 27:S0294-1260(23)00077-8. doi: 10.1016/j.anplas.2023.07.003. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe authors report a case of a patient managed for severe cranial vault depression following combined neurosurgery and radiotherapy. This situation caused major aesthetic discomfort and was potentially dangerous due to the mechanical weakness of the bone flap. The authors had a CAD (computer aided design) silicone elastomer custom-made implant made to fill perfectly the depression. Beforehand, an expansion was performed to cover the implant after removal of the radiated skin. The surgery and post-opera...

Systematic investigation of surgical site infections (SSI) in plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery (ERCS): Feedback
Ann Chir Plast Esthet. 2023 Jul 14:S0294-1260(23)00074-2. doi: 10.1016/j.anplas.2023.06.013. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSurgical site infection (SSI) in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery (ERCP) is quite uncommon compared to other surgical specialities but remains one of the main complications. The aim of our study was to provide feedback on the systematic investigation of SSI in ERCP. This is a monocentric retrospective study, including all paediatric and adult patients who have undergone ERCP surgery between 01/01/2014 and 31/12/2021. During this period, the department systematically investigated all SSI ca...
