Buprenorphine relaxation of regulations
Back in March 2020 the DEA relaxed regulations for drug testing with Buprenorphine. It allowed for more telemedicine, less in person visits and less testing. Well it's been over a year and I don't see any updates. I've looked at the SAMHSA websites and don't see any. If anything more relaxation occurred. Now I'm getting paranoid that they've made new regulations or restarted prior regulations that I'm not aware. I'm going to give SAMHSA a call this coming Monday. Anyone know of... Louisville (OOS) vs Touro
Hey everyone, accepted to both schools need an opinion. Louisville Pros - Cheaper (tuition and cost of living) - Research opportunities - Very friendly interview - Well ranked program Cons - No opportunity to get instate tuition - Further from home (not a huge deal here but further than NY) Touro Pros - Relatively new program, digital dentistry emphasis - In NY so closer to home and some family Cons - Very expensive - No scholarships - new program, possibly issue with finding... How can a US-trained physician work abroad?
I'm a PGY-2. At some point in my life, I would like to live abroad. I was wondering about the viability of telemedicine in the US. Is it really possible to do telemed as a career and thus be able to live wherever one wants? Are there other jobs primary care doctors can get abroad without having to get licensure in another country? Thanks. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

elective rotation for 3rd year
I am debating between couple elective rotations for MS3 year and I was wondering if anyone happens to know how rigorous these electives are. Upperclassmen at my school aren’t too familiar so I was wondering if someone here can help me choose one. I was hoping to choose something that is pretty chill. 1) pediatric telemedicine : interacting with patients in a telehealth setting under the direction of a ped attending. I am wondering if this would allow me to just sit in front of my computer... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Touro vs stony
Hi! So i’m currently deciding between Stony Brook Dental and Touro Dental and I was wondering how important each pro is in making a decision on which school to go to. Touro: I know that touro has amazing technology and I know that tech has a major influence in dentistry so I wanted to know how much that matters and how beneficial it will be in preparing me for a future in dentistry in terms of all of their digital dentistry tech etc. Stony Brook: I know they stony has an amazing reputation... Poly pharmacy and falls
Long story short, I had an older patient on sedating meds which I had been working to minimize. Last time I saw her she was having poor PO intake and I focused on enhancing that and getting her to be medically evaluated in the ER because she is also diabetic on insulin (which she did not follow through on, and it was telemedicine so I could not arrange direct transport). In hindsight I should have probably lowered her meds because blood levels could have been going up. She then proceeded to... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

RF of Digital Plantar Nerves
Any of you have experience with RF of a plantar nerve either pre or post Morton's excision? I've got a guy with 1st webspace pain - unusual - s/p 2 previous excisions in the 2nd and 3rd webspaces. The podiatrist is not interested in another excision and so I' think I'm left with either alcohol neurolysis, RF, or stim. J Foot Ankle Surg. 2012 Jan;51(1):20-2. Epub 2011 Nov 4. Pitt vs Jefferson
Pitt Pros: - T15 - I like the heavy research component of the school. - Neuroscience Area of Concentration looks interesting. Cons: - Downtown Pittsburgh looks cool too, but not as fun as Jefferson. Jefferson Pros: - The location around Jefferson looks really fun. - Digital Health track interests me. Cons: - Low ranked school. CoA would be about the same for both schools for me. I have no ties to either city. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Transition to healthcare IT
I’m currently a pharmacist and I have the opportunity to transition to a clinical application analyst for a hospital. However, the salary would be less.. but I wanted to know if there is any room for growth in that aspect & if you are enjoying the transition? Any regrets? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
