Job offer
I work independently through my LLC and do autism evaluations and counseling, mostly with neurodivergent folks. The last few years, I’ve been working from my home office doing things via Telehealth. I began working collaboratively with a psychiatrist about 6 months ago. We hit it off as friends. Last week, he offered me a 1099 job through the group practice he owns. I can keep my practice and also work out of his office and get referrals from his group. The upsides are being around... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What to do on 7 off?
Just took a 7 on 7 off position in the Southeast. I am looking for extra work during my week off. Thought would be to pick up 2-3 days during the week. I've tried looking for PRN telepsych positions and couldn't find any specific ones. Also thought about correctional positions that are flexible. I don't see how starting my own outpatient telehealth would work because of my limited availability. Outpatient is not my preference either. The hospital I am working at has occasional extra shifts... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

IA applicant for 2025 Advice; Will quitting 3 months into scribing hurt my chances and advice on what do do?
I am applying for this may 2024. I am 23 y.o; I had an IA in my senior year of college in 2023. That semester was challenging as my fathers declined and I was his home health aide. I had to commute back and fourth resulting in me making the poor decision. I have since been trying to redeem myself but the clinical informatics specialist/medical scribe position I am working for is really not a good fit for me. I have 560 hours working 45 hours a week in 3 months. It is my most recent and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Using telehealth private practice hours as supervised hours?
This year, I will be starting a tenure-track assistant professor position immediately after graduating with my PhD and finishing internship. I'm thrilled for this next step, and part of my negotiation package included ensuring I will have supervision from a fellow faculty member as I work towards licensure in the state where the university is (Tennessee), which is great. I've done the math, and I'll just need about 8-10 hours per week of clinical hours, which they said I'm welcome to obtain... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Projector + mirror vs digital screen in short rooms
We are moving office spaces from our 20 foot lanes to shorter rooms. I like the ease of use of the projectors, but wanted some opinions on using a digital screen and minimizing the letters in a short room as opposed to a mirror and projector set up. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Signout Digital cases from home
My path group is going to slowly start signing out digital cases from home. From what I understand we have two options for monitors to be in compliance. 1) Barco monitor: Can use to sign out but costs a lot. 2) There is a list of FDA approved monitors but must do a 60 slides validation first. Can anyone confirm.deny the above? Share wisdom or knowledge about this? Thank you (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Nontraditional student -- best options?
As the title says, I'm a nontraditional student. I got an AA in Psychology and a BA in Criminal Justice with a minor in psychology before entering the military, where I worked law enforcement primarily. I was medically discharged from the military after 4 years, and now I'm at a crossroads. I had two backup ideas as I was leaving the military: digital forensics and forensic psychology. I went with the former because I thought it would be less competitive. I'm halfway through an MS in Digital... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
