LU-002 closed and will not move to phase III as it did not meet prescribed PFS criteria

If you could research anything...?!
Hi everyone! I am a current first-year MD/PhD student. I go to a T20 school with pretty diverse & extensive research opportunities. My research background is pretty diverse, and I find lots of areas interesting. My question is, what area of research do you think is going to explode within the next 10-20 years? What type of project/department should I get involved with during my PhD so that I will be most successful in say 20 years? Stem cells? Immunotherapy for cancer? Gut microbiome... PhD in Immunology before Residency
Hello Everyone! I hope you're well. I am a final year US-Img who is considering doing a PhD. I haven't given my Steps yet. A PhD Immunology (not in America but in top 150 university globally) is what I'm thinking. I plan to pursue a career in heme/onc. Since immunotherapy is the future, can this help me in my match application for medicine? Or will the PhD have more effect on my fellowship match? I know MD-PhD is beneficial when applying to Rad Onc but don't know about IM. This last... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

MSI High Rectal Cancer
Has anyone seen the latest NCCN rectal guidelines showing neoadjuvant/definitive immunotherapy for MSI high patients as category 2B recommendation. Does anyone know what data this recommendation is based on? I'm hoping it's not that 12 person study. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What technical skills will be most valuable for therapy development in the next 10-20 years?
As the header says, what technical skills do you think will be most valuable for therapy development in the next 10-20 years? i.e. for treatments like immunotherapy, gene/epigenetic therapy. I’m not sure if focusing more on stats/machine learning or wet lab skills will be more useful to focus on as a med student. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

The New Kid on the Block: ARPA-H
Well, it isn't approved yet, but it seems as if there is gonna be a new funding agency, for the time being housed within NIH, called ARPA-H (ADVANCED RESEARCH PROJECTS AGENCY FOR HEALTH (ARPA-H)): ARPA-H Recent advances in biomedical science—from immunotherapy to treat cancer, to the highly effective COVID-19 vaccines—demonstrate the strengths and successes of the U.S. biomedical enterprise. www.nih.gov It doesn't really have much structure to it at the moment, but it sounds like a joint non-profit/for-profit ...

cancer pain only practice
Do you guys think there is enough volume to support an outpatient interventional cancer pain & cancer rehab practice? I will be starting my PM&R residency training at one of the top programs in the country after this academic year (am an prelim medicine intern right now). And I ultimately want to help cancer survivors. I think with the continuing improvements with cancer treatments (most recently with immunotherapy), cancer will be/is a chronic disease with debilitating side effects that... cancer pain only practice (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Neurology vs. Rheumatology Question
I have noticed some diseases with overlap between the two specialties. Who usually treats vascular immune disease such as primary angiitis of the CNS and giant cell arteritis? Similarly, who treats conditions such as polymalgia rheumatica, inclusion body myositis, polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and other inflammatory or non inflammatory myopathies? I imagine that the immunotherapy can become quite complicated with the various immunosuppressant/immunomodulatory drugs out there. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
