Needle Exchange - What Type of Volunteer Activity?
I am going to begin volunteering with an HIV/AIDS organization that does needle exchange for intravenous drug users in about a month (paperwork is set, just need to go through orientation etc). Once I'm trained for it, I will actually be doing the exchange - ie, I will be interacting directly with the clients of this service. I will not, however, be doing any of the HIV/HepB testing also performed on site. Is this best described as general community service or as clinical volunteering?
