Advice Needed- Volunteer/ Clinical Work to include?
Hi Everyone,
Im not applying until next cycle, but I have a question in regards to shadowing/volunteering that I have done!
In High School (in preparation for applying to Med School), I did a significant amount of volunteering,shadowing, and "other stuff":
Shadowing:
-CVOR, Radiology Lab, Pathology Lab, Catheter Lab, Nursing Home,Dentist, Pharmacy ~60 hours
Volunteering
-Volunteered at a Local Hospital in the ER, Oncology Unit, and Special Procedures unit; ~110 hours

Before I begin, I must thank all the SDN members for the tips and information about this tedious test. Also, I want to add that before I started studying for this test, I had almost zero knowledge of OC and GC because my freshmen and sophomore year of College weren't the best years academic wise.. yeah. Still managed to maintain a GPA above 3.0, however.

Needle Exchange - What Type of Volunteer Activity?
I am going to begin volunteering with an HIV/AIDS organization that does needle exchange for intravenous drug users in about a month (paperwork is set, just need to go through orientation etc). Once I'm trained for it, I will actually be doing the exchange - ie, I will be interacting directly with the clients of this service. I will not, however, be doing any of the HIV/HepB testing also performed on site.
