Bristol-Myers Ends Some Discovery Work And Cuts R&D Jobs
Yet another drugmaker is reworking its R&D operations and shedding jobs. The latest is Bristol-Myers Squibb, which is ending drug discovery in three areas – hepatitis C, diabetes and neurological disorders – and cutting up to 75 researchers, or about 1 percent of its R&D workforce of approximately 8,000 people, according to a spokeswoman. The drugmaker plans to increase investments in research in immuno-onocology, as well as continuing a focus on HIV, heart failure, oncology and hepatitis B, among others. There is no change in the late-stage pipeline support. “We are focusing our R&D organization on deliv...

Hepatitis B viruses in bats
Hepatitis B virus (HBV, illustrated) is a substantial human pathogen. WHO estimates that there are now 240,000,000 individuals chronically infected with HBV worldwide, of which 25% will die from chronic liver disease or hepatocellular carcinoma. The hepatitis B virus vaccine is highly effective at preventing infection. Because there are no known animal reservoirs of the virus, it is believed that HBV could be globally eradicated. The recent finding of HBV in bats raises the possibility of zoonotic introduction of the virus. Serum and liver samples from 3,080 bats from Panama, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana, Germany, Papua New Guinea...

Seven Year-Old Vaccine-Injured Boy Refused Compensation For Not Being Disabled Enough
Conclusion When it comes to compensation, many of the world’s governments shirk their responsibilities and turn a blind eye to suffering families. Families are repeatedly encouraged to apply for compensation even though the governments are fully aware that they will be refused compensation when they do. It is families like the Hadfields who need the money the most. Josh is a child who has clearly been injured after receiving a vaccination recommended by the government and yet his family has been refused compensation because the VDPU has deemed him as not disabled enough. How disabled does a child have to be, for goodness...

How Pharmaceutical Companies Hide the Dangers of Vaccines from Parents
Conclusions Most middle school students are familiar with the design of a cause and effect study. The pharmaceutical companies are getting around ethically and fairly designed studies by claiming that it would be unethical to withhold a lifesaving medical intervention such as vaccines. This despite the fact that short term studies never included a ‘true’ placebo and vaccinated children have never been compared to non-vaccinated children in long term studies. As you now are familiar with faulty research designs falsely concluding vaccines are safe for your children and protect your children from illness you may wan...

Pharmaceutical Patient Assistance Programs Expand throughout the World
Over the last few months, several pharmaceutical companies have announced new donations and programs regarding vaccines, as well as increasing access to medicines for important diseases. Below is a summary of some of these activities and we will try to update the story as we come across other announcements. GlaxoSmithKline In late July, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) announced that it would increase its commitment to the GAVI Alliance to provide vaccines to developing countries, helping to protect millions more children against infectious diseases. Under this new agreement, GSK will provide an additional 240 million doses ...

How The CIA Thwarted Polio Eradication In Pakistan
Using medical personnel and medical aid as cover for a CIA plot seems like a very bad idea. Ben Richmond: A local warlord banned vaccinations after Pakistani doctor Shakil Afridi was linked to the CIA operation to find Osama bin Laden. Under the guise of giving out a Hepatitis B vaccination, the doctor collected DNA samples from children, looking for bin Laden’s family members. A link was established between the CIA and vaccinations and starting on June 16, 2012, tribal... (Source: Dr. X's Free Associations)

Five Month-Old Baby Dies Just Days After 8 Vaccinations – Parents Are Charged With Her Murder
Conclusion As with so many of these cases, Baby A did not just receive just one vaccine, so it is therefore difficult to pinpoint exactly which vaccine, if any, may have led to her death. However, it is vital that the doctors involved in this case as with all cases, consider the vaccines as a possible contributory factor. Sadly, these parents have been accused and charged with the murder of their daughter without any substantial evidence of foul play. There appears to be no evidence of external head injuries or bruising to the upper body to indicate that Baby A had been shaken. I believe that if this child had been shaken ...

HPV Vaccines Can Kill And They Do!
Conclusion Just from the evidence that I have provided, HPV vaccines clearly are not safe, and yet no government to date has ever banned these vaccines. Other products have been banned for far less dangers, so why is a vaccine that has killed 140 women and children and maimed thousands of others been allowed to stay on the market? To offer the HPV vaccine to newborn babies along with the hepatitis B vaccine is pure evil. Many babies are born prematurely and we have to ask ourselves what the impact of these two highly dangerous and toxic vaccines given at the same time will be. We also need to question why newborn babies ne...

China nixes patent for Gilead HIV, hepatitis drug Viread
Gilead Chairman and CEO John Martin. The patent protecting Gilead Sciences Inc.'s HIV and hepatitis B drug Viread has been revoked by China officials. The move, explained BioWorld, gives China greater leverage in ongoing negotiations with drug companies around pricing. For Gilead, it is another strike against Viread, which also has had its patent protection reversed in India and Brazil."It is a fairly groundbreaking decision," China health analystRobert McTiernan of IHS Healthcare told BioWorld. "The big trend is that (China wants) pharma companies to be more flexible on pricing. They will likely be able ...

World Hepatitis Day
July 28th, 2013 marked the 6th World Hepatitis Day, an annual international event to raise awareness and influence change in viral hepatitis prevention and access to testing and treatment.  World Hepatitis Day was launched in response to the concern that chronic viral hepatitis did not have the level of awareness, nor the political priority, seen with other communicable diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.  In May 2010 the World Health Assembly officially resolved that World Hepatitis Day would be held annually on July 28th. The resolution, supported by all 194 member states, recognized the global impact...

Hepatitis C and World Hepatitis Day
World Hepatitis Day was celebrated on July 28th. This day is part of a global effort to raise awareness surrounding the potential devastating nature of viral hepatitis.  Viral hepatitis is a worldwide problem, and although hepatitis A, B, C, and E are all harming the inhabitants of this planet, I am particularly committed to stopping the spread of the hepatitis C virus (HCV). I was infected with HCV in 1988, and have worked in this field since 1997. There are vaccines for hepatitis A and B, but none for hepatitis C. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 150 million people have chronic HCV, claiming more than 3...
