Long noncoding RNA MEG8 induces an imbalance of Th17/Treg cells through the miR-107/STAT3 axis in Henoch-Schonlein purpura rats
Aging (Albany NY). 2023 Dec 4;15. doi: 10.18632/aging.205266. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTT-helper (Th) 17/ T-regulatory (Treg) cell dysregulation underlies the pathogenesis of Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP). This research focused on the implication/s of the long noncoding RNA (lncRNAs) maternally expressed gene 8 (MEG8) in Th17 and Treg cell differentiation in HSP rats. MEG8, miR-107, signal transducer and activator of transcription-3 (STAT3), receptor-related orphan receptor γt (RORγt), and the transcription factor forkhead box P3 (Foxp3) expression levels were detected using real-time quantitative polymerase chain r...

IgA Vasculitis following AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19, case report
We report a case of IgA vasculitis after AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine. A 29-year-old healthy man who developed purpuric skin lesions one week after his second AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine which complicated by glomerulonephritis and gastrointestinal involvement. Skin biopsy revealed fibrinoid necrosis and leukocytoclasia consistent with small vessel vasculitis. Due to the temporal association, AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine-related IgA vasculitis would be the most likely explanation.PMID:38054690 | DOI:10.23750/abm.v94i6.12959 (Source: Acta Bio-Medica : Atenei Parmensis)
