Radiologists can take steps toward environmental sustainability
Radiology departments can take proactive steps to promote environmental sustainability, according to an article published April 23 in Radiology.
A team led by Kate Hanneman, MD, of the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada, proposed ways that departments can strategize to promote planetary health beyond turning imaging machines off when not in use. These include forming sustainability teams, opting for low-energy imaging tests when possible, and working with imaging vendors, among others.

It’s common to meet the idea of intuition with an eye roll. We tend to value reason over everything else, using expressions like “think before you act,” “think twice,” and “look before you leap.” We don’t trust intuition. In fact, we believe it’s flawed and magical thinking, either vaguely crazy or downright stupid. After all, good decisions should always be reasoned.
What we don’t realize, however, is that intuition is a form of cognition that can actually improve our decision-making.

Government ’s failure to implement Windrush decisions is unlawful
The government’s decision to scrap recommendations made by an independent review into the Windrush scandal was unlawful, says UNISON today (Tuesday).
Over the next two days at the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand, the union will be putting forward legal arguments to support the case brought by Windrush scandal victim Trevor Donald.
