Rush's New Flipped Classroom Curriculum
What I understand the curriculum to be: Flipped Classroom in small group sessions led by faculty for a mandatory 15 hrs/week (missing more than 1 session results in disciplinary actions); 2 cases/week with Wednesday off, ~50-90 pages of reading per case No traditional lectures (learn on your own at home/own time through online materials My question: Can any M1s at Rush offer insight into their new flipped classroom curriculum? I know that they have piloted it this year and saw... Rush's New Flipped Classroom Curriculum (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Accused of cheating, professor doesn't want to let me take the exam
So we had a test in Histology and we all handed in our papers, so I quickly went on the internet on my phone to check one answer, to see if it's correct. Note that almost the whole classroom had already their phones in their hands, because the test was over. The professor, however, came to me and took my phone, he looked into it (he saw the internet page I was browsing) and told me that he will report me and that I won't be able to take the exam either. I told him right there that... Accused of cheating, professor doesn't want to let me take the exam (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Question For Current Vet Students re Schedule
Hello All, I will be applying to UC Davis for the entering class of 2017. This is really for any veterinary student. What is your school schedule like? Is it a 9-5 type of schedule? Is it over the weekend too? I know a lot of time is spent out of class studying. This question is in regards to the time you spend in the classroom/lab/hospital at the school. Most vet schools do cover the curriculum but not exactly what a day to day schedule is like each year. Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Transfer?
My school switched to a flipped classroom curriculum without informing incoming students and I've hated it since day one. I'm ending my first semester and I was told you can't transfer MD programs until after 2nd year. Is the same true if I wanted to switch to a DO school? Has anyone ever done this or know anyone who has? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Disliking school / flipped classroom
I need to vent. Or get some encouragement. Or something. I'm having a really hard time. I picked my school out of 6 possible options after constant reassurance from administration/faculty that the flipped classroom they instituted this year would be a fantastic learning opportunity, better than the traditional lecture, and I'd be being taught in a more engaging way. Instead, I spend HOURS - like 50-60 hours per week - just reading densely written course note documents and... Disliking school / flipped classroom (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Chances - academic and lifestyle turnaround - good and bad record -gameplan
Howdy, I wanted to see if anyone here had any perspective on how medical schools view a situation like mine; personal experience would be valuable. In summary my early college years were plagued with a lack of direction, addiction, and failure. I took some time off, became focused, and was incredibly successful inside and outside of the classroom upon returning to school. I will list my experiences and concerns to make things easy. My experiences and overcoming challenges contribute to... Chances - academic and lifestyle turnaround - good and bad record -gameplan (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I'm trying to paint a picture in my head of medical school...
Like the title says, I'm trying to get a basic idea of the structure of med school. Still a few years out as I am a junior at uni taking a gap year after senior year. How many hours a day do you go to class? Is it M-F? How are the classes structured: lecture halls with a ton of people, small lectures, mostly labs? How many hours do you spend studying every day/week? Is it two years of classroom work followed by two years of clinical rotations? I'm curious about everything from the... Classroom behavior
There is lots of chatter during several of my classes, especially when the professor is lecturing. I want to know if this is normal for medical school? It gets to the point that I can no longer understand what the professor is saying. Every time the students are told to keep it down, it only lasts for so long before they are talking during lecture again. It just seems disrespectful. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
