TCU UNTHSC School of Medicine Vs. Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM)
Hi all, hoping to be admitted by both (2 WL, OOS) and both are conveniently located in Fort Worth, Tx. I would love to hear thoughts and whether anyone has any knowledge regarding the Texas schools. TCU UNT SOM -brand new MD, first class this summer -private and $$$ (57.5K tuition with the first year free as charter member) -60 student class, lots of support, no student ranking, P/F -true flipped classroom, lectures are just team-based problem solving -integrating a longitudinal... No research, what schools are not worth applying to?
I'm a 30+ non-trad, good stats (4.0/518) and decent ECs including many clinical and volunteer hours. However I have no scientific/hypothesis based research experience other than in the classroom for required prerequisites. Using the MSAR my stats make me at least relatively competitive for several higher level schools, but I wonder if the lack of research will totally sink me at many of them. I'm not adverse to doing research in the future, just honestly did not have time to pursue it while... No research, what schools are not worth applying to? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Caribbean Medical Schools
Hey everyone. I was hoping to gain some opinions about Caribbean medical schools. I know that there is "the big 4" including St George, American university of the Caribbean, Saba, and Ross, but I also know there are lots of other lesser known schools that I have heard are well run programs. Schools like Trinity, AUA, and there are lots others. Does anyone have some insight to these schools? Pros or cons. What the curriculum is like? If a school more classroom based or self taught? Any... Caribbean Medical Schools (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Whoot! Whoot! Whoot! CHSU COM breaks ground
A medical school broke ground in northeast Clovis on Wednesday, becoming the latest privately funded health care project spearheaded by the Assemi family. Florence Dunn, CHSU’s president, told a crowd of about 200 people that the college is moving ahead in the accreditation process and will soon begin construction of a 90,000-square-foot building. The medical training facility will be three floors and include classrooms, osteopathic skills lab, study space, faculty offices and student... Whoot! Whoot! Whoot! Received a C in Organic Chemistry I
I received a C in organic chemistry I for being tardy to every single lecture in a small classroom. I have A's in the rest of my classes. How bad is this if I want to get an MD/PhD? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Do you think it would be possible to do an online masters in education during med school?
I wanted to look into teaching. Not just clinical teaching, but classroom teaching, perhaps at community colleges. I see myself teaching maybe 1 or 2 courses per semester when i'm a lot older. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Deciding whether to reapply this cycle, RE: NAAHP Advice
Overall Undergrad GPA: 3.27 Final year Undergrad GPA: 3.79 Masters Neurobiology GPA: 3.97 MCAT: 515 I have a strong research and publication track record, but academic blunders early in undergraduate and less volunteering experience than the average applicant. I don't have "hands on" clinical experience, however I worked in a special education classroom for young adults with psychiatric disorders for one year. What should medical schools be replacing lecture with?
My school still gives in-person lectures with a few online modules throughout that are not mandatory. All lectures are recorded and available for student use. However, less than 10 students are actually regularly attending any of these sessions. My school has tried to implement question and answer sessions as well (seemingly transitioning into a "flipped classroom"), but students still don't attend these sessions. Second-year students are focussed on mastering UFAP on their own. Is having... What should medical schools be replacing lecture with? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Does PSU say whether a course is online, on transcript?
Anyone here from PSU that knows if online courses show up on transcript? I was wondering since my other college did not put on the transcript that I took some courses online vs some in the classroom. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Long Island NY NP Programs
Hey everyone, Currently I'm in the process of applying to NP schools. I am a native NYer from Long Island and I am solely applying to Long Island programs. I have my eyes on Hofstra's relatively new NP program and also Molloy. Anyone have any insight into these two programs? Anyone a current student of either school that can chat with me to give me some insight into his or her school? At this moment I know Hofstra have a Blended learning/PBL type classroom style but am not sure if Molloy... Long Island NY NP Programs (Source: Student Doctor Network)
