Effect of Clotrimazole Suppositories on Distribution of Pathogens in Vaginal Secretions and Oxidative Stress in Patients with Vaginitis
CONCLUSION: Clotrimazole suppositories have been shown to significantly enhance therapeutic outcomes for patients with vaginitis by alleviating inflammation, rebalancing vaginal microecology, regulating hormone secretion, and mitigating oxidative stress.PMID:38430151 (Source: Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine)

Multifocal lesions in a kidney allograft
ConclusionsEven without a clear source, serious infections may develop in kidney transplant patients who otherwise have concern for malignancy. Chlamydial infections may lead to serious intra-abdominal infections in immunocompromised patients.  The inadequately treated chlamydia likely led to polymicrobial ascension of the genitourinary tract that seeded the transplanted kidney. A high index of suspicion for infection is essential in immunosuppressed patients. Biopsy is crucial for a timely diagnosis. (Source: Pediatric Nephrology)

Chlamydia pneumoniae Upsurge at a Tertiary Hospital, Lausanne, Switzerland
Emerg Infect Dis. 2024 Feb 27;30(4). doi: 10.3201/eid3004.231610. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTChlamydia pneumoniae infection cases have usually accounted for <1.5% of community-acquired respiratory tract infections. Currently, Lausanne, Switzerland is experiencing a notable upsurge in cases, with 28 reported within a span of a few months. This upsurge in cases highlights the need for heightened awareness among clinicians.PMID:38413241 | DOI:10.3201/eid3004.231610 (Source: Emerging Infectious Diseases)

Prevalence of < em > Chlamydophila < /em > spp. and Canid herpesvirus-1 in Polish dogs
CONCLUSION: The average velocity values for a dog with Chlamydia are detailed. No CHV-1 was detected. The results achieved should be verified on the basis of a larger number of studies. However, the high prevalence of these pathogens in the PMD population has not been established.PMID:38406369 | PMC:PMC10884577 | DOI:10.14202/vetworld.2024.226-232 (Source: Herpes)
