Association of Commonly Prescribed Antepartum Medications and Incidence of Orofacial Clefting
CONCLUSION: New associations between commonly prescribed antepartum medications and orofacial clefting were found. These findings should be confirmed as causality is not assessed in this report. Practitioners should be aware of the potential increased risk associated with these medications.PMID:38449319 | DOI:10.1177/10556656241237679 (Source: The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal)

Ecological and human health risk assessment of Pharmaceutical compounds in the Sirsa River of Indian Himalayas
This study investigated the distribution, and ecological and human health risks of four most frequently used pharmaceuticals [ciprofloxacin (CIP), norfloxacin (NOR), cetirizine (CTZ) and citalopram oxalate (ECP)] when co-occurring with metal ions in the Sirsa river water of the BBN region. The concentration range of the selected pharmaceuticals was between 'not detected' to 50 μgL-1 with some exception for CIP (50-100 μg L-1) and CTZ (100-150 μg L-1) in locations directly receiving wastewater discharges. A significant correlation was found between the occurrences of NOR and Al (r2 = 0.65; p = 0.01), and CTZ and K (r2 = ...

Safety Profile of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors in Real-World Settings: A Pharmacovigilance Study Based on FDA Adverse Event Reporting System
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: Most of our findings are consistent with those reported previously, but some AEs were not previously identified. However, AEs attributed to SSRIs remain ambiguous, warranting further validation. Applying data-mining methods to the FAERS database can provide additional insights that can assist in appropriately utilizing SSRIs.PMID:38407147 | DOI:10.1177/10600280241231116 (Source: The Annals of Pharmacotherapy)
