27.2 Alternative Treatment Strategies for Pediatric Catatonia
Catatonia is a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs in both children and adults. ECT is often used in the acute treatment of catatonia. However, ECT for children is limited due to restrictive legislation. Lorazepam can be utilized but may not be available during drug shortages, as in 2022. To encourage consideration of other agents, we will present clinical outcomes for catatonic children treated with pharmacologic agents in addition to lorazepam. Print 2023 Sep 24.ABSTRACTAlcohol withdrawal syndrome is one of the most important consequences of alcohol use disorder, a complex neuropsychiatric disorder, which is firstly treated in non-specific and secondly in psychiatric/addictive in- or outpatient units. On the other hand, alcohol withdrawal syndrome is one of the most important outcomes of the severity of alcohol use disorder, further, it can lead to the development of alcohol-related seizure and delirium tremens. Hence, early recognition and optimal treatment of alcohol withdrawal syndrome have...

Percutaneous absorption and Skin accumulation of Lorazepam-Diphenhydramine- Haloperidol Carbopol gel in Porcine Ear Skin
In conclusion, the ABH Carbopol gel provides a promising alternative to the ABH PLO gel for treating CINV in hospice patients. Further studies are required to validate these findings in clinical settings.PMID:37700110 | DOI:10.1208/s12249-023-02608-6 (Source: AAPS PharmSciTech)
