The continuous treatment of anterior segment open globe injury: an eye injury vitrectomy study
CONCLUSIONS: Initiating CST before fibrosis or scar formation might improve the prognosis of open AS injury, which was preferable to natural wound healing after wound repair.PMID:37711825 | PMC:PMC10498217 | DOI:10.21037/qims-23-645 (Source: Hand Surgery)

Viruses, Vol. 15, Pages 1928: A Birth Cohort Follow-Up Study on Congenital Zika Virus Infection in Vietnam
chi Lay-Myint Yoshida We assessed the development, sensory status, and brain structure of children with congenital Zika virus (ZIKV) infection (CZI) at two years and preschool age. CZI was defined as either ZIKV RNA detection or positive ZIKV IgM and neutralization test in the cord or neonatal blood. Twelve children with CZI born in 2017–2018 in Vietnam, including one with Down syndrome, were assessed at 23–25.5 months of age, using Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3), ASQ:Social-Emotional (ASQ:SE-2), Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers, automated auditory brainstem response (AABR)...

Results of intrastromal corneal ring implantation in advanced keratoconus With the aim of postpoing or avoiding corneal transplantation
CONCLUSION: 320-ICRS to treat advanced keratoconus appears to be an efficacious and safe procedure, being a surgical alternative to delay or even prevent corneal transplantation.PMID:37700603 | DOI:10.1177/11206721231201661 (Source: European Journal of Ophthalmology)

Ocular manifestations of the genetic renal tubulopathies
CONCLUSIONS: Ocular abnormalities are uncommon in the genetic tubulopathies but may be helpful in recognizing the underlying genetic disease. The retinal expression and mouse phenotype data suggest that further ocular associations may become apparent with additional reports. Early identification may be necessary to monitor and treat visual complications.PMID:37702059 | DOI:10.1080/13816810.2023.2253901 (Source: Ophthalmic Genetics)

The Relationship between Axis Length Difference and Refractive Error in Unilateral Myopic Anisometropic Children Treated with Orthokeratology
CONCLUSION: Every 1 mm AL change would cause an average refractive error increase. Age did not influence the association between AL changes and the degree of myopia. The right eye is more likely to be affected in children with UMA. The Ortho-K lens treatment slowed down the growth of AL in the myopic eye in children with UMA.PMID:37700783 | PMC:PMC10495229 | DOI:10.1155/2023/3110478 (Source: Journal of Ophthalmology)
