Polo-like Kinase 4 Promotes Gastric Cancer Peritoneal Metastasis Through Activation of the Rac1 Gef PREX2

Peritoneal metastasis from gastric adenocarcinoma(GCa) portends a poor prognosis, and symptoms are often resistant to chemotherapy. High Plk4 expression predicts aggressive tumor biology in patients with breast or colorectal cancer. We hypothesize that Plk4 facilitates peritoneal metastasis in GCa by enhancing cancer cell migration and invasion of the peritoneum, signaling via the Rac1 activating Guanine Exchange Factor (GEF) PREX2.
