AAHFN Leadership Message for Heart and Lung Journal

The health of those around the globe was significantly impacted in 2020. The Stress in AmericaTM survey conducted by Harris Poll for the American Psychology Association in October 2020 identified most participants experienced altered physical and emotional wellbeing. Of those surveyed, sixty-one percent of adults reported unplanned weight changes with an average reported weight gain of 29 pounds since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Delayed healthcare, depression, and changes in sleep and alcohol habits were a few of the areas negatively affected1.
