Funding Opportunities: Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics for Underserved Populations (RADx-UP)
NIGMS is pleased to announce our participation in Phase II of the Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics for Underserved Populations (RADx-UP), a $500 million NIH-wide initiative to understand and reduce morbidity and mortality disparities for vulnerable and underserved populations disproportionately affected by COVID-19. The initiative funds a national coordination center and a network of projects across the United States aimed at improving COVID-19 testing and understanding COVID-19 health disparities.
Four new RADx-UP Phase II funding opportunity announcements have been published:
Community-Engaged COVID-19 Testing Interventions Among Underserved and Vulnerable Populations (U01 Clinical Trial Optional)

Supports research projects that apply the scientific knowledge gained in 2020 and 2021 to expand testing interventions to reduce COVID-19 disparities among underserved and vulnerable populations and to address scientific questions on interventions to increase access and uptake of COVID-19 testing, given the increasing availability of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines.
