Remote Monitoring of Heart Failure Using A Device-Based Multisensor Algorithm
Remote monitoring has become standard of care for management of cardiac arrhythmias in patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). However, its utility in heart failure management is unclear. A combination of CIED-derived parameters, including heart rate, respiratory rate, sensor-derived S3, and thoracic impedance, has been shown to be able to predict heart failure admissions in real world scenarios. The HeartLogic multisensor algorithm has been implemented in Boston Scientific CIEDs in current clinical use.
