Restricted vs unrestricted oral intake in high output end-jejunostomy patients referred to reconstructive surgery.
CONCLUSION: Restricted oral intake seems to be more effective for prevention of HPN-related complications and shortening of time to surgery. Unrestricted oral intake appears to provoke uncontrolled losses of body energy and protein, inhibiting weight gain.
