One of these is that it needs to be cheap enough to be able to use on large numbers of patients. MR, much as I like it, fails this.  even with rapid MR protocols, doing one patient per hour is expectable, 2 per hour would be the absolute best case. To do the number of patients I read every day, ~80, you would need 160 imaging hours per day. 12 Hour day, that would be 14 MR scanners running full out. Strike one.
