American Physiological Society Orr E. Reynolds Award Award: $500 and reimbursement of expenses up to $1,500 Deadline: December 1 Contact: Executive Office The Orr E. Reynolds Award, named for the second Executive Secretary-Treasurer, is presented for the best historical article submitted by a member of the Society. Articles may deal with any aspect of the history of physiology, including the development of physiological ideas and their application, instrumentation, individual and collective biography, departmental and institutional history, history of societies including APS, and physiology in its public context. Manuscripts should represent original research and be adequately documented. Articles published in journals or books of the Society during the prior three calendar years are also eligible for the award upon request by the author. If an author submits a manuscript/article but is not successful in obtaining the award, the same manuscript/article may be submitted for two consecutive years. The recipient receives $500 and reimbursement of expenses, up to $1,500, incurred while attending the Experimental Biology meeting. The article may be published in one of the Society journals after appropriate peer review. Members may receive the award only once, and those members who have advanced degrees in the history of science or medicine are not eligible
