Hepatic venous outflow obstruction is a feared complication of liver transplantation that can lead to failure of the graft and development of posthepatic portal hypertension and associated complications, such as ascites. This complication is seen from 5.3 to 12.9% of patients post liver transplantation. We aim to retrospectively evaluate the efficacy and patency of hepatic vein stenting for hepatic venous outflow obstruction post liver transplantation.
Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) is an interventional radiology procedure to treat complications arising from portal hypertension in patients with liver disease. Postoperative survival following TIPS are dependent on several factors. This purpose of this study is to determine whether machine learning models can accurately predict in-hospital mortality following TIPS and ultimately, be used to develop a computational tool that can stratify patients based on their mortality risk.
Balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) has emerged as a novel treatment option for inoperable chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) and persistent pulmonary hypertension post pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) when traditional treatment options fail.
